Weekend drawing to a close now, and boy do I feel the back ache lol.
So yesterday was very wet so didnt really get anything done so it was a 6:30 start this morning to powerhose and hypochlorite the shed roof to let it dry for a couple of hours while I went to get flashing to repair it.
Honestly I was conflicted right up until lunchtime, as the roof absolutely needs replaced, and I had considered stripping off the felt and just replacing it, but I just know if I go down that route I’ll end up in a father Ted situation of taking a dent out of the car…
To do a complete replacement will cost hundreds of pounds I just dont have, and really I only need it good enough to let me work in it to do the renovation stuff elsewhere.
So I have patched it up. And man it took a bit longer than I thought and is a tougher job than you might think too lol
All that’s left is a good coat of bitumen right across both the felt and the corrugated roof, that should tidy the look of the thing and give it another cheap layer of protection from the elements. Im mulling weather to even try that tonight or wait and see if what I have done is water tight first incase I need to add a few more biths of flashing here and there.
This is where the total lack of any DIY experience really shows lol
