Friday again? 0edge for this weekend is to do more work on the Frostgrave terrain. We’re meant to be starting playing in person next week and it would be really nice to have it all finished. Also have six statues to paint for the game that I started earlier in the week.
When you have time off work how long does it take for you to really start relaxing? Usually day one to be honest but, as with this week, I tend to come down with some illness by day two which may or may not be my body collapsing in relief.
Do you get more hobby done in your time off work or less? Depends, sometimes I focus on hobby, sometimes on video games. This week I played video games most of the first three days because it was easier when I was feeling rotten. Then since Tuesday I’ve been working on hobby stuff.
At the end of your time off work do you look back on what time was wasted or do you just “meh, I needed that break”-it? I don’t and it seems part of the larger “always be busy, if you aren’t being productive you are failing” problem to feel it. My dad was a workaholic and the effects were awful to see. Really the only good that came of it, is that three out of his four kids (though the youngest is 35, we’re all still kids right?) try to not repeat the mistakes. Any day I don’t have to set an alarm to go to work is a good day. I try to just enjoy being able to sit and read a book for as long as I want or the joy of unlimited tea breaks.
No music for me just now, been relistening to the Malifaux podcast Breachside Broadcasts the last few days. Honestly, Wyrd might be the best example of making their lore interesting and accessible in the wider industry
