At least the Tau began their debut with Kroot Carnivores. Doesn’t get much more grimdark than an enemy combatant that will eat you if they win.

It’s all well and good to say Creative Assembly made Cathay with help from Games Workshop, but it doesn’t change the fact that TWWH3’s Cathay fits into Warhammer’s Old World about as well as She-Ra would fit into the Hyborian Age.

They’re still missing bleakness or any “Gothic” atmosphere.

AoS has more grim darkness than Cathay as presented so far.
