Happy Friday.
My pledge is to finish the miniatures from the Sláine starter set. I’m playing an intro game tomorrow and I already have the miniatures up to a rough tabletop standard. I’ve mainly highlights and some detail work to do.
Going to try a practice game in my own later this afternoon so I can pretend I know what I’m taking about to my friends tomorrow.
Working in the miniature/tabletop industry: Would you like to work in the industry of our hobby and if you do, would you like to “get out”?
I like to keep my hobbies and my work separate. If I was to get a job in the industry, then it would have to be the non artist side, maybe casting miniatures, or editing or retail, that kind of thing.
Is there any job you really wished you had the chance to get into?
A Medieval monk illuminating manuscripts, but I was born 800 years too late and I’m not religious so, oh well.
Maybe a librarian or something scholarly. I wanted to be a scientist when I was young but after going through university I realised I didn’t have the focus to study just one thing, in that much detail, I like bits of everything and with a lot less technical maths.
What other hobby would you like to explore but just don’t because the barrier to entry is way to high?
Time traveller? ? Not sure about this one. Archeological perhaps? But then would I have the patience?
