Maybe it’s just a different mindset of people? Maybe other, older style minis are some “acquired” taste? Lets face it, all players around the 20 year mark are born post 2000 and didn’t grow up with things like an Atari 2600 where “blocks” made your characters and your brain filled in the blank. They grew up on semi-photorealistic graphics and effects and really don’t need much imagination. Damn young people.

But seriously I guess that does have an effect on people. Plus G’Wullu is “the big one” with their IP being everywhere. And some of the older players maybe are just falling victim to some sort of sunk cost fallacy? “I poured years and tons of money into this, this must be good”

Anyhow: taste is subjective and I try not to moan too much about it but sometimes it’s just… odd.
