Happy Friday.
My pledge this week is to finish my 9 earth tribe models for Sláine. I’m also working on some large rocks terrain but most of the work there is waiting for the things to dry.
Sculptors – do you have favourites?
I really like Kev Adams’s work, both his old GW miniatures and his work from Otherworld Miniatures. Other than that I tend know what I like when I see it. I know there are a variety of sculptors who do the Moonstone models and Northumbrian Tin Soldier models but I couldn’t name any.
Do you buy minis just because a certain sculptor made them and you don’t ever plan on use them or play the game they are associated with?
As above I really buy any models that I like. Chances are I’ll probably get models made by the same sculptors without realising it just because I like their style.
Should sculptors (and all creatives for that) that work on a game/game system be credited by name?
Yes, of course. It’s my current bugbear that GW don’t credit any of their creators in their books and I really hate that. It’s like they’ve regressed and gone back to the pre 60s and 70s comic.
I recently got a box of Wargames Atlantic miniatures for the first time and not only do they credit the sculptor on the box, they credit the miniature painter, the artist and the package designer. That’s fantastic.
