Problem with waiting for a new game to arrive is the anticipation fades according to the inverse square law… and with kickstarter and inevitable delays I’ve usually lost interest by the time it arrives.

Longest I probably waited is around two years… kickstarter! Mythic Games, Modiphius, Monolith, Cmon, Flying Frog, Grimlord Games… all guilty of massive delays.

Biggest disappointment is the rules for kickstarter projects are usually so bad that I feel like a beta tester, not a customer. And when the release it later with an ‘Upgrade Kit’ or ‘Rules 1.5’ I feel like I’ve been ripped off.

In short… unless it’s something with a 3 to 6 month deliver window (which is pretty much just Crooked Dice…) I tend to avoid kickstarter for the delays.

Longest wait now is usually a preorder window for something I want and only if it’s month away at most.
