@sundancer it used to be fairly easy to order stuff from the UK, but unfortunately the US withdrew from the international postal treaty, which caused shipping prices to go way up. Now I have to make larger orders to justify the shipping cost, which does involve a bit of planning, or else I end up with a huge stack of impulse-buy MDF buildings that have been sitting unbuilt for nearly a year now…
We do have Reaper Miniatures, which is focused mainly on RPG so a lot of general fantasy, but they do have their Chronoscope range which delves into most of the other genres. The figures are pretty characterful, and there aren’t too many other places where you can get Socrates, Uncle Sam and Doc Holliday in the same order, but their scale tends to be a little inconsistent and doesn’t always play well with other ranges (or even with each other).
We also have Black Site Studios, which has been doing some really interesting things with pre-colored MDF terrain, and also with smaller, self-contained games that have low model counts and as such are easy to get into without spending a fortune.
