    I did not get a chance to reply today, busy at work. Im off tomorrow, so stay tuned! Also, almost finished one of my Arcworlde models (down to the last stages of the batches, then onto Orks!). Also terrain…

    Anyone have feedback for me on my Gundams?

    @rayzryr (15 points)

    Yeah those were the ones. Me neither. I was never too pushed or excited for them.

    Ill be sure to check that out.

    GORKAMORKA ORKS! 15 points for nostalgia!

    I need to start going back to Ork stuff today. The 2nd is getting a bit late! Im still doing work on terrain and Albionnicans but tonight my warboss will get primed and Ill do another coat of red on my dreads, maybe. Its been a busy day…

    Thanks! Yeah, they are sorta the canon colours for Albionnicans. I want to do the makority of them in the red/grey/black and then maybe do a small warbands worth as a different regiment from the rulebook. Maybe as the Navy or Monster Corp. Ill see. 10 points for the meme.

    Decent progress on the Orks. 10 points.

    10 points for the Dragoons and 10 for the Foot Knights. What exactly is a Dragoon?

    Good night!

    I did a wash on my woods, one with soft tone and one with strong tone. The results are quite good

    When dry:

    My left wrist kind of hurts. I think I did too much hobby today.

    I also did these:

    @limburger

    Pics of the hobby you did or it didn’t happen! 

    1) Valid points, 10 points. Would you say it would have made the movie better if they saved bits and pieces to be sprinkled across two movies?

    2) I read the book and loved the Trilogy, so myth busted. Dances with Smurfs indeed. It was good but didn’t live up to the hype. There have been plenty of other brilliant science fictions movies before and since. 5 points.

    3) 15 points. Damn I found that hard to watch after a while, but to each their own. The Monsters were good but damn the contrived way the movie is…

    I actually quite liked Ghost in the Shell, both medias.

    4) 10 points. A lot of people say that about Suicide Squad. Well, he always cared for his daughter, not his famiy, in the comics. Even then he doesent care aobut the wife, and im pretty sure they are seperated/divorced in the movie and not married. His daughter is mentioned and his love for her, which is accurate, and not so much the wife who is implied to be with someone else AND a drug addict.

    I never say the video with the editing mistakes but it sounds cringeworthy. They had a bad script and the wrong director imho. This is deadshot:

    5) Can an affective movie universe outside of Marvels be done?

    Infinity War turned that theory on its head, if you don’t mind me saying. They did simliar with Thor Ragnaork with him losing his hammer, Spiderman Homecoming with him losing the suit that Stark made for him, and to a degree in Infinity War with Banner not being able to Hulk out.

    Also you should really play Mass Effect 2 with your Save Data from the original game loaded over, it wont disppaoint you, its an awesome game. The third not so much. But two is brilliant.

    Also worked on my ruins

    And had a small delivery arrive

    with a free pin

    All of this was today (they were primed a few days ago, but lots of washes, went through the remainder of two pots of dark tone, two pots of soft tone and most of my Reikland Fleshsade)

    Last response from me for the evening I think, as intend to eat, get more hobby in and have a friend over. Maybe even some Mario Kart!

    And please guys take photos of your work and post them up! 

    1) Did you see the movie ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’? And what did you think?

    I kinda feel more or less the same way as you. 10 points.

    2) What is an acclaimed movie or one a fanbase really enjoys but you hated? Also why

    5 points, people suckk

    3) What is a movie with ok to bad reception that you liked?

    When did a live Action Bleach the Anime come out? Im curious now.I also liked the Dark Tower movie but never read the book. Try Bleach the Anime. 10 points.

    4) Slightly different question, what movies disappointed you

    5 points, never heard of it.

    5) Can an affective movie universe outside of Marvels be done?

    They should have could have would have tied it in with the TV stuff, I mean its always been established there is a DC Multiverse. Imagine the TV Barry Allen mentoring the Justice League one a bit and teaching him powers and warning him in advance about Reverse Flash. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

    @mage : IMHO they were searching for bits and pieces to make one Solo movie.

    I kind of doubt they could do another one.

    And while there may be good stories about Solo in the (now obsolete) expanded universe. I think they should never have done a prequel for this character. It might have worked if they had used it to set the scene with Jabba before the first one, but then you still have that disconnect as no actor can ever match Ford.

    I thought there was too much additional stuff that didn’t make any sense at all in the Hobbit trilogy. The forced romance between dwarf and elf. The Dragons’ potential reduced to a few short scenes after all the massive hype before he appears. The entire third movie used for a battle that barely makes a page in the book (because it’s not important to the story). The only ‘good’ extra was a bit of extra scene setting for the rise of Sauron.

    Suicide Squad (major spoilers) editing critique :

    As I said … the movie appears to have been a trainwreck before it got edited, but one has to wonder if something a little more coherent could have been made. It also turned the Joker into an angry boyfriend of Harlequin, which didn’t make any sense.

    I might watch Thor:Ragnarok at some point. However like I said . I just don’t get the superhero genre as a concept.

    I can’t get the fluffin’ pictures of my phone for some reason, so I’ll post a picture of my DAK another day. You can see a few of them in the intro to Bolt action demo that was made during bootcamp *grin*

    Time to sleep now.

    Mage , your ruins and trees turned out great . Of the picture you posted of all 6 trees and 2 bases , I like top one with the darker base matching the trees , looks sort of like a fires come through and blackened everything with soot and ash .   I think your Gundam  needs some German kit or vehicle parts added to his armor , right now he look Germanic  enough . Take a look at some of the Dust Mechs for ideas . Do you have German model  tank parts to add to him ?  Maybe a tube on his back similar to the German gas mask case , the Storm Troopers in Star Wars had it .  Also , how tall is he in CMs ? Can you post a picture of him beside a standing 28mm  , a normal dude , not a Space Marie , I, mean Marines .

    Im retiring for the night after a game of xwing and doing some work on my Albionnicans.

    @a27cromwell I do not have any of the parts you describe but can’t see an issue in getting them and adding them down the line. Im more concerned about the paint job being suitable and looking good for the time being, but I appreciate your feedback. I shall save a screen shot of your advice. Jeepers he is 20 or 25 cm tall I think Ill have to measure him. Ill post a pic of him beside something and post it tomorrow. Bed time for now.

    Also, to anyone interested, I feel I am at 90% health! Woo! Sinus, chest, cough, throat and congestion are all minimally annoying/uncomfortable.

    Good to hear your feeling better .   Hm , 20 to 25 cm , like 8 to 10 inches , yikes . That’s are large figure . I was thinking  1/35 scale German bits might work , but with him being that large , probably not .  1/24 or 1/16 might , but that stuffs not easily available and its costly . The paint scheme looks pretty good . I would add the Ambush style dots to contrasting colors to help break up his shape . Being a large model  I would make the dots about this size – O .

    @mage the Bleach live-action movie came out earlier this year in Japan and hit Netflix last month. It’s one I want to try and get to as most folks I know who have seen it really dug it, and Bleach is just ****ing cool 😉

    Been getting smashed at work so no time for hobby and little time for anything productive at all really…

    @limburger
    glad you made it home ok, hope the boot camp was fun 🙂 Nice timing re B&P re the themed week – you will have plenty of stuff to watch for inspiration.

    @woldenspoons
    hope the build stuff is progressing well. Have you put together the sector mechanicus stuff yet? How do the boards look lined up together?

    @mage
    as far as I am aware (and please feel free to correct me if I have this wrong…) a Dragoons (Dragons) were effectively mounted infantry, so more mobile than regular infantry, and could ride to where they were needed and then dismount (some of them would hold horses for the others) and fight on foot. They could also double as light cavalry as needed. Over time the foot part kind of became les relevant and they started to work a little more like regular cavalry. Woods look cool, the soft tone one might be a bit of a better match for your gaming mat? But both will look fine, especially if you blend them a little with a drybrush or even gluing small bits of flock on the base in patches here and there maybe?Hope the wrist is OK, glad the rest of yo is on the mend 🙂

    @evilstu I noticed at my local Bunnings this bottle as well:

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/simple-green-1l-green-concentrate-all-purpose-cleaner_p4470509

    I haven’t tried this variety, though that’s possibly the one you are thinking of? I’m sure this wasn’t stocked when I bought a bottle of the ready mix stuff.

    Yes, plenty of Orks. But you’ve got a solid block of foot knights to deal with there too!

    @mage
    solid effort on the Albionnicans ?

    The terrain is coming along great. Yeah! Warboss time >:-D

    Also, thanks for the feedback on Storm Iings Thunder. I don’t feel that my group would have handled the investigation side of so well…

    In our current campaign my sorcerer is trying to figure out how to get through a magical barrier. Rather than try and help, two of the others decide to go wandering (seperately!) through what appears to be an abandoned temple we’re exploring… so splitting the party and pulling focus. And then of course discover that the temple isn’t abandoned completely. Anyway…

    It is good to hear that your health status is trending upwards!

    Tonight though I’m starting to feel like something is coming on. Sore throat etc yuck.

    Not feeling super energetic, but I’ve added some sand to the bases of these guys:

    AD9583B2-C588-4482-AF74-90062248EFFC

    The mob of already painted stuff on the right is part of the “stretch goal” for Orktober. Just some extra Orks and Grots to refresh/ finish.

    I need to get some AP Leather Brown primer. Both my Orktober projects are going to want it to get done reasonably quick.

    @evilstu : definitely nice timing.

    The big ship is awesome to behold … now I really need to re-order my storage space.

    :

    I managed to get the pics of my phone.

    This month is when we remember Operation Market Garden. They do this with a series of light sculptures along the route that the allies used when Eindhoven was liberated :

    The bootcamp desert at night was fun to see (the sound effects really made it good).
    However it was impossible to play unless you had glow in the dark dice … (and you probably need something for the armies too if you want to know what force is yours) :

    I decided to ‘take the day off’ on my day off today and went to Galway city and checked out the shops up there. Also got some hobby supplies.

    Ive been hobbying since I got back and rewatched Solo: A Star Wars tale. Its been a productive evening, but it is nearly one am here. I gotta start getting ready for bed. Proper replies and points tomorrow.

    Ive put together (though not gap filled) the entirety of my Star Wars Legion set (despite losing and finding pieces again). I also finished my Shattered Dominion Ruins (trees, their bases and last two objective markers are next) as well as some Arcworlde minis over the last few days (three with one more pending, if you must know).

    Im also going to update my SW:L hobby log soon ish.

    Also, forgive my ignorance of history, what is Operation Market Garden?

    @evilstu I’m not sure I have enough space to put them together.

    The scenery is fantastic but there are a few issues with the instructions. For instance all the pipes are duplicates but it doesn’t tell you to do them twice.
