    Scout Ship

This is my scout ship, designed from the ground up in Maya, and printed in parts held together by OpenLOCK clips. It started as a stretch goal project from my last KS, but grew, and grew. Actually, I spent over two months on it full time, but am very pleased with the results.

The interior is not printed yet, but the top comes off, and you have a complete playable floor plan. It was maybe around 2.5-3 kg of plastic to print, mostly at 150 micron/0.15 mm print layers.

I plan to put in some lights in the bridge to make it a bit more interesting, this is just a test shot, but it does highlight the interior bridge seats and controls.

More to come if there’s an interest.

The setting was created by Micke from Dockhus Animation, my work fortunately is door to door with them, and they work in traditional stop motion, so I commissioned it. Not quite finished, but looking pretty decent.

That is a work of art well done.

I do have the transport coming along too. Still in the modelling phase, but have begun to test print.

Thank you! I still need to print the internals, which will be a process!

You should also post this thread under the project system. Being able to give only one click per post does not do this work justice!

Now, how many hours did it take to print that thing (it’s massive). I’d hate to think how many meters of filament you went through.

And all the internals look very nice as well, with those what is the weight looking at?

From the KS I LOVED the shuttle you did, it’s useful for so many sci-fi games, however this thing is a beast 😀

I didn’t keep count, but yeah, it is a beast. Currently I’d estimate it’s around 3.5-4 kg. So, around 1200+ metres. But hard to say, so many misprints.

The transport I am working on is somewhere in between.
