With the announcement of tariffs by the USA on all EU and UK imports, and no doubt the obligatory retaliatory tariffs on the USA by UK and EU , is there a possibility of price increases on items by Wargames Atlantic and other U.S manufactured items such as games systems and miniatures.
March 21, 2025 at 7:48 pm #1920737Probably, but lets be honest, that thought has not crossed the mind of the apparent russian sleeper agent Commander in Chief because it is so far off his radar in the golden age of corruption because it won’t personally make him richer.
March 21, 2025 at 8:07 pm #1920738well…we’ll just have to wait and see…. personally .. i can’t see them missing the opportunity to hike the prices…to make a bit more profit…i mean really its the perfect excuse.
March 21, 2025 at 9:40 pm #1920744It depends on whether tariffs are blanket on all goods or not. Hobby things are usually – here in Canada – exempt. I will pay GST tax sometimes, but almost never.
On the other hand, I ordered motorcycle parts out of the USA and I got hit with the new 25% retaliatory tariff, despite it showing as “whole motorcycles”, on the CBSA website. On $1000 worth of parts, it was expensive.
The US with Agent Krasnov in charge are just going to end up fully isolating themselves, and then dying en masse from avian flu or measles thanks to RFL Jr’s ridiculous lack of science. They already are begging door to door for eggs – as a Canadian, it’s seriously laughable.
I have watched the Berlin Wall come down, the end of the USSR, and now I get to watch the USA implode. What a time to be alive.

March 22, 2025 at 4:32 am #1920745Try to keep the political rants off the site please. “This guy is the Devil” always becomes “Remember this guy? He wasn’t even that bad” once all the media drama dies down. It’s the equivalent of the people who buy those gossip rags at the Supermarket to find out which celebrity just did X or who slept with who. Nothing has ever changed, nobody has ever flipped their vote or radically changed their political views because some random they’ve never met hijacked a blog post.
People come here for Hobby not to see people arguing about TDS or Russia or whatever 10+ year old drama people want to pretend they can have influence over.
The Tariff Question is actually an interesting and important one and people coming to this post for info shouldn’t be turned off the site by even more of this stuff, go to Twitter or Discord or whatever and do it there,
March 22, 2025 at 7:52 am #1920746feel free to keep scrolling elessar, you dont need to click on this thread… The actions going on atm including tariff war means we are genuinely living through a period where the sphere of american influence / free world order / american empire is collapsing from within. it’ll take a decade but basically every ally in the free world has looked at the country that promised to lead it post WW2 and has decided that they are now untrustworthy and untrustworthy ally status is worse than enemy state status.
The goods and services that will be created to plug the gap will all be home grown by individual countries and will not benefit the american markets. the whole thing is a net loss for literally reasonable human being in the free world.
To put it into gaming terms, nobody will want to get involved in a doubles tournament with the USA atm because they’re likely to damage your gaming experience to make themselves feel better through bullying friends. Rule one of gaming is built on trust, ‘dont be a dick’, nobody will want to play a game going forwards with a dick…. whereas in the previous 80 years every ally did join them for a doubles tourney.
March 22, 2025 at 11:14 am #1920767That’s cool man, go take that somewhere else and say whatever you like, that’s literally what the entirety of Social Media is for, just not here. Someone asks a good question about the Hobby and you just reply with some political talking points, take your own advice, you didn’t have the answer the OP wanted, keep scrolling.
It just emboldens other people to post their own political stuff then before you know it the other side shows up with their own equally dumb talking points and now the post is just the most useless form of conversation known to man instead of a place for information.
I don’t even disagree with some of what you said, just not here man.
March 22, 2025 at 1:45 pm #1920774When it’s your country that’s being threatened with annexation, daily, do pop by and let us know, @elessar2590 – until then, I’ll leave you with this…
Also, it should be noted that there are travel advisories AGAINST the US, from:
– Canada
– UK
– Germany
– Denmark
– Finland
If you were a gamer, who would want to travel to a US tournament, now? Not me. Hard pass.
Absolutely unprecedented in history. Anti-Trumpers? Or anti-fascists?

grantinvanman. Reason: 51st state? Fuck off, USA!
March 22, 2025 at 2:26 pm #1920775As usual the anti-Trumpers have managed to let themselves be convinced they have the majority view. How tiresome
March 22, 2025 at 2:29 pm #1920776Im a bit confused because the egg price thing has been a problem in the US for a few years now
March 22, 2025 at 3:16 pm #1920778@solar Trump promised to lower the price of eggs on “day one”, along with a crap-ton of other falsehoods.
Eggs now are 4x the price for a dozen in the US vs Canada, if you can even get eggs. Job well done!
In fact, anti-Trumpers DO have the majority view. With negative polling, for both Donald and JD Hillbilly Vance, the majority is now … pro reality. Get on board: it’s fun!
March 22, 2025 at 3:18 pm #1920779Tariffs are a political thing… UK prices have increased since we left the EU…
There’s a problem with eggs? Have you tried cadbury creme eggs instead?
Anti-trumper sounds like something you take to reduce farting. Which makes pro-trumper sound very unpleasant!
March 22, 2025 at 4:29 pm #1920789sorry… i didn’t mean this to get political , it was just a honest question on if people thought tariffs would cause an increase on prices of american imported games items.. no way was i being political.
March 22, 2025 at 7:39 pm #1920792@phil57 this was going to be a grenade the moment you posted it. Don’t feel bad.
People are going to be on both sides: the right side, and the wrong one.
Tariffs are WRONG. They are meant to disrupt former allies of the USA. Simple as. Canada will fight them for as long as it takes. We won’t give in, ever.

March 22, 2025 at 7:42 pm #1920793Again, a post asking a completely legitimate question turns into an absolute cesspit because people just can’t help themselves. Go play your little “talking point v talking point” game somewhere else.
Canada isn’t going to be annexed, those travel advisories are because of a paperwork change with US Visas, people who lie to immigration about working on tourist Visas get deported. In Australia we have prime time TV shows about immigration deporting people and cancelling Visas at the airport, relax. This is what I’m talking about, people get these weird ideas, forget reality and just start plastering them everywhere without thinking. I would 100% go to the USA for a tournament because I’m rational, my passport shows my sex and I won’t lie to immigration about working. Be rational, is he the greatest liar in history or should you take ever tweet the guy posts as 100% true? The answer is that politics is a team sport so it depends on who your team is just like whether or not something is a penalty depends on the teams jersey. I’m not even saying don’t do it, just please not here.
@phil57 you’re fine mate, it was a 100% brilliant question that a lot of us would like an answer to.
