    my main reason for asking the question was that i’m thinking of getting the wargames atlantic 10mm samurai boxes ,which are unfortunatley out of stock at the moment . Now ,with wargames atlantic being american and they import thier mini’s i was just wondering if  they would be subject to tariffs and would i have to pay more for them. (or would they just use it as an excuse to bump up the prices)

    They might use it as an excuse but as far as I’m aware they have three seperate warehouses in the UK, USA and Australia so they might be able to get around Tariffs by being a local business but until the Tariffs are actually written and implemented we won’t know.

    @elessar2590 – so you’re anti-lgtbq+, got it.

    Makes it clear, and that’s why the advisories are against the USA. They’ve gone back to 1933 in a mere 60 days. Job well done.

    I’ve watched the Australian immigration shows – we get them here in Canada. NZ one too. 99% “right mate, you’re white, carry on. Oh, hey, you’re Asian – let’s inspect you!”.  The racial profiling is painful to watch. I’ve been to Australia, it was one of my favourite trips, actually. I didn’t meet anyone like you, I guess.

    Be a fascist – I don’t give a crap. Your country isn’t being threatened. Mine is.

    I, and 90% of Canadians surveyed, take this very seriously. When Donald says he’s going to do something, he definitely isn’t shitposting. Canada is now aligning with EU, and CANZUK, and our historical ally of over 80+ years has irreparably damaged their relationship.

    Finally, for what it’s worth, I agree with you that politics are too volatile for gaming  – as we clearly have highly divergent views. So let’s agree to to disagree – I believe everyone has the right to be wrong – even you!

    @grantinvanman if you don’t see how what you just wrote is exactly what I was talking about and how wildly unhinged it is then I don’t know what to say. Apparently because I don’t want people ranting about politics in my Hobby space and I corrected you I hate gay and trans people? Apparently I worship Adolf Hitler as a God because I mentioned the existence of a TV show as an example of how none of this is unusual. Dial it back buddy, tone it down a few million points. If Canada was actually at risk of invasion they’d be drafting you, they’d be stockpiling military resources, they’d be getting assurances from foreign governments, none of that is happening, relax, being a sports-ball fan is fine but when it becomes your entire personality it’s embarrassing.

    All that because I corrected your repeated talking point that those warning were actually “The US changed their rules on this, check with them before you fly” not “it’s dangerous to go here”.

    @phil57 to actually answer your question it doesn’t look like any tariffs will effect our hobby. The EU Tariffs on the USA are in two waves, the first on vehicles, the second on food and drink. Unless something changes it looks like nothing should change. If anything they’d just be used as an excuse.

    Rant meets rant. As I said, let’s each walk away from this, as neither of us are going to agree obviously. You failed to correct anything, and made an ass of yourself. So, seriously – just fuck off.

    Out.

    Heh, it seems all posts on this platform now need to meet with the approval of elessar because this is their space and they decide what they want others posting there. Cool got it.

    I realise this is quite a trollish comment but it is highlighting exactly what has happened here. I also agree with some of your points elessar but Instead of just moving on by you’ve claimed ownership of ‘the space’ and told others what they’re allowed to do based on your own desire and what you want from it. As to your suggestion to use social media to discuss stuff you don’t want here, I’d like to highlight that the OTT platform is effectively a social media platform and sits inside the definition of one.

    Some guy hijacks a post to ramble his personal political views, deeply insults me then tells me to “fuck off” but it’s my fault for asking that you keep politics off a tabletop wargaming website? The guy is unhinged but it’s everyone else’s fault, people like this take over every platform on the internet and make everything a political shitshow. Next time we’ll have someone else talking about how the tariffs will be gone once we get all the Jews out of the Deep State or something equally as crazy from the other side. You are actually the person who derailed the whole thing with your “Russian Sleeper Agent” post. That’s got nothing to do with the impact of tariff’s on the price of wargaming figures, it’s just you seeing a chance to be political in a forum that has zero place for it. What benefit does it give you? What reason is there to even post it? Like a ten year old posting the N word to be edgy is all it is.

    It’s the rule I grew up with in pubs: No Religion, No Politics. Nobody needs to hear about it, it serves zero purpose, all it does it make communities worse.

    This is a really good community and it’s never been a place for people to come and hijack posts to talk about politics. He knew what he was doing and I thinkg he should follow his own advice. “I agree with you that politics are too volatile for gaming”.
