Well… the government are back in full panic mode again… lockdown from Thursday for another month.

Makes no difference to me… I don’t get furloughed because of my job… I’m a postman.

Given the choice I’d rather spend a month at home that deal with the crap going on at work in the run up to xmas. It’s bad already and this second lockdown is going to make matters much worse as people shop for absolutely everything online.

If you’re expecting a parcel in the next month… expect it to be late.

    a job that few want,

    many need
    especially now

    essential and yet unwanted

be safe and know that you deliver happyness even though few of us will say it out loud

Essential, but unwanted… they should try putting that on job application form… it’s certainly how we feel.

A lot of people avoid us at the moment… they want what we have, but are scared of us.

People scared of the “person giving gifts at your doorstep” ! shame on them, I enjoy a Hi to the postman at the front door, working harder then santa this year as well. I was a postie for 10 years back in 90s.. walks and then indoors on the big machines...  Thats when we had a bar in the building..!!!!!!

My father was a post man (I still have his old RM rain jacket in my wardrobe as a momento of him.

He was a really committed employee and I will have nothing but respect and admiration for workers of RM all my life.

Hard job undertaken by the salt of the earth!

I don’t fear my postman / woman, I think they are unsung heroes. During the first lock down it was them that kept me sane.

So a few parcels will be late, it’s not the end of the world ( that might happen on 03/11/20 ). It just means my lead mountain is a few inches less tall.

I wouldn’t want your job, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciated you doing it.

Without you this Country’s economy would seriously be in the shit.

Didn’t intend this to be a ‘praise the postman’ forum, but your comments are appreciated. Sadly the management don’t have anything good to say, they just want more work at no extra cost and their idea of social distancing is a joke.

Recently I had to self isolate because my ‘bubble’ was told to. Royal mail policy now is not pay us for isolating unless we test positive for the virus. Luckily we didn’t have covid, but that’s just one example of how we are treated by employer.

Although my job is not great, I do feel sorry for NHS who are put at far greater risk on day to day basis.

Ugh. Occidental governments have mismanaged this epidemic badly, although their own citizens not taking the virus seriously are to blame as well. I mean, it’s not like you didn’t have other governments, such as Taiwan, you could look at as a model, and even the Czech Republic showed that you only needed masks to reduce transmission rates (except they bollixed that up, too).

Well, hang in there. Do your best.
