    ### Start of shameless copy & paste ###

Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy & paste ###

    Question:

    • Why haven’t you gotten all the presents for your family yet?
    • Do you have snow in your part of the world at the moment?
    • Can there be to much plastic on the “Pile of Opportunity” (aka “Pile of Shame”)

    Happy days!

    Pledging ( again ) to my 3 main stop-start projects ( WWX,Sharp Practice and SW Legion ).

1.I have finished that quest for the season.

2.Yes,but not for much longer as it’s disappearing as quickly as it arrived.

3.No,the Pile of Shame continually grows,no matter how much is taken out.

    1. I have, we’re Christmas daft in our household.

    2. No snow for us 🙁

    3. I have unpainted plastic from almost 15 years ago. The pile grows, the pile consumes…

Why haven’t you gotten all the presents for your family yet? Because I’m an idiot, had about eight months to do it and still likely to leave it all until the last week and get in a panic about it. Oh – and because I’m making a few this year (we tend to every now and again)

Do you have snow in your part of the world at the moment? Hopefully not. I know it’s nice and romantic and all that – but living by the sea we get one day of snow, four days of ice that bring the entire city to a standstill then a week of mucky slush. Hopefully we’ll miss it this year.

Can there be to much plastic on the “Pile of Opportunity” (aka “Pile of Shame”) Yes. And when there is, get rid of it. Don’t keep it hanging around. Forget how much you paid for it and treat it like the worthless plastic it is – give it away; free yourself from its mental shackles. Go on – try it….. you’re welcome.

In other news: this made me laugh more than it should.

It’s that time of year. So have some “that time of year” music.

    Another week ?
When will this year end ?

    1) Why haven’t you gotten all the presents for your family yet?
Nope. It’s 2020 and there is no Chrismas due to The Event(tm) (Stay Indoors!!)

    2) Do you have snow in your part of the world at the moment?
    Nope …  I doubt we’ll get any.

    3) Can there be too much plastic on the “Pile of Opportunity” (aka “Pile of Shame”)
    Heresy detected !

There is no such thing as too much plastic on the great Pile of Opportunity.
If it doesn’t fit you simply need to buy a bigger house 😉

The best and most Christmassy song ever :

And it’s got an English cover by Todd Rundgren :

The final part of the song is the best … 😀

This week’s pledge is to finish painting the Lonely Tree expansion for Kingdom Death. Then I think I will have finished my painting target for the year (still need to check though).

    1. Why haven’t you gotten all the presents for your family yet? – My gift choices always get ridiculed by my wife so now I just leave it to her each year.
    2. Do you have snow in your part of the world at the moment? – We were supposed to, but in the end it just rained.
    3. Can there be too much plastic on the “Pile of Opportunity” (aka “Pile of Shame”) – I get the impression that in the grand scheme of things I’m not as bad as most hobbyists. I tend to see projects through and only have a few on the go at once. Nothing in my pile is over a year old at the moment.

We’re not supposed to finish stuff @danlee
This pile of opportunity is there to ensure our continued existance.

Anything that reduces the pile is one step closer to the grave … and we don’t want that.

So if you finish a project then you abso-flockin’-lutely need to buy more (and have it arrive before you run out of stuff to build & paint).

I guess that’s why I picked Soviets / Orks … both need giant hordes so there’s a never ending need for more.

    😉

No pledge again from me this week…I finished one paper, but another looms… Can’t wait for this semester to be over… My uni gave us an extra week of Christmas Break this year, so maybe more stuff will get done around the holidays…maybe I’ll just sleep… Who knows?

Why haven’t you gotten all the presents for your family yet?

Because delivery takes longer this year… I did get something for everyone in the family, though…just need it to arrive…

Do you have snow in your part of the world at the moment?

At the moment? No. But we did get a decent covering on Dec 1st, which was nice. Knowing my luck that’ll be in for the whole winter… I wish I lived north of the Arctic Circle. Narvik sounds like a nice place…

Can there be to much plastic on the “Pile of Opportunity” (aka “Pile of Shame”)

Only in a structural sense. A properly constructed ‘Pile of Opportunity’ will stand forever, no matter how much you add!

@limburger Flappie is my favourite Dutch song! Just always takes me a while to find it during festive time!

@crazyredcoat it’s a pretty standard Christmas song on Dutch radio. Or at least it was when I listened to radio.
It’s a shame the English cover doesn’t quite match the tone, because it is a very sad song … with a happy ending (well sort of … ;))

I usually have trouble remembering how to spell the chap’s name… 😛 I deff agree it sounds better in Dutch, though; I first listened to it subtitled and I was sold.

@limburger don’t worry. During lockdown I have got into the habit of using my 3D printer. I know print on average one model per day, which is much faster than I could ever paint them.

    Hails all,

Many moons since I posted here but painting has been done. I’ve a few projects on the go and I’ve been bouncing between them.

    Questions first:

    1. Most of my shopping is done but there’s still a few stragglers to chase down. I do most of my shopping online every year but I still enjoy a wander through the busy shopping streets and Xmas markets, so sadly missing that this year.

    2. No snow here, Ireland being famous for it’s rainy Christmases rather than white ones.

    3. My pile of plastic is shocking at the moment but I tend not to feel too guilty once I’m painting something. I can lie to myself and  pretend I’m catching up with my purchasing.

So currently I’m working on my Reikland Reavers for Bloodbowl, multiple units for my AdMech army and a 3D printed Maui (from Moana) that a mate wants me to paint for his daughter. I also finished the six Sector Imperialis tiles that I started years ago but put on the eternal long finger.

I also have two of the Forgeworld tiles that will stretch the board to the full 8’x4′.

I’ll get some more work done on Maui tomorrow but while the next couple of stages are simple enough, I’m dreading the tattoos and designs on the hook. I’m not an artist and freehand is definitely not my thing.

Once I get through him I’ll go back to the Reavers, These guys are the first of many Bloodbowl teams I have lined up, I want to get a league running with my roleplaying group maybe late next year.

    Music…

    @irredeemable welcome back 😀

The Event(tm) (Stay Indoors!) has made shopping non-fun. Nothing beats browsing shops and seeing that one thing you thought you didn’t need/want until you see it. Webshops are sterile and boring compared to that.
