    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/forums/topic/introduce-yourselves-new-member-thread/

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil. This includes no philosophy, no home computer culture wars.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Question of the week:

    • Brainfarts – what to do when creativity is not doing anything?

And now back to the show.

Pledge: finally grab some XPS from the garage to keep working on the diorama.

Answer: I wish I knew! Hence why I ask. Hit me with your ideas.

Pledge is continue Afrika Korp project for Bolt Action.

If I knew what to do when creativity is lacking I would tell you, but I don’t.

It happens to the best of us. Douglas Adams had frequent bouts of writers block, but it was worth the wait.

Patience is a virtue, or so they say… I’m not that virtuous.

Pledge: the 8th Army beckons! Get them painted this week, plus more Necrons.

Brain: I definitely get stuck. Sometimes it will be days before I’m inspired enough to pick up a brush.

    Some Dead Milkmen:

@pagan8th  it’s only missing the cute little aliens with the big teeth XD

Dead Milkmen – just when I thought I’ve heard almost every possible weird band name under the sun XD

The Greatest Satirical Punk Band of All Time! I’ve been listening to The Dead Milkmen since 1987? Still play them all the time! They also have an epic YouTube series:

    Enjoy, and … you’re welcome! 🤣

Pledge, sploosh some paint on some epic stuff and maybe undercoat some other bits and bobs.

Sometimes when I hit a block I find it helpful to clear up my craft space. Taking half finished projects out of view helps me concentrate on what I’m trying to complete.

maybe less beans so there’s less brain farting ? 😉

    I wish I knew.
Felt more like sleeping and doing nothing all day, which sucks as I do have stuff I should be doing.
There’s knowing you want/need to do stuff

And then there’s actually doing the stuff.

Not sure what’s up with that.

It’s day N of X of me still not having completed my hobby room.
Need inspiration and motivation to get going, but it’s not happening like I want it to.
Maybe I keep getting distracted by stuff ?

All I could do hobby wise was get a defining wash on the 8th Army today

    Defining wash

Motorcycle went into the shop yesterday for tires, carb overhaul (gummed up from sitting 2 years), controls move from forward to mid, and hopefully nothing else…

So the rest of the day I’m building a guitar pedalboard. It cuts the Velcro or it gets the hose again…

This week’s pledge is to get started on another Rogue Hobbies mini. Yesterday I finally finished the Roknauts. https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1912086/

    • Brainfarts – what to do when creativity is not doing anything?. I’m quite a methodical guy so I tend to just steadily chip away at projects. I might go slow if I struggle to find the time (like in recent weeks), but I generally make steady progress.

“Wurst und Käse” doesn’t sound much Dutch. Buuuut what do I know.

Wednesday my fellow plastic crack aficionados. I had a good laugh last night and also primed some minis. So in theory I could paint some Mechs.

But I need to finish the diorama first. And I keep forgetting to grab XPS from the garage. And when I remember it’s past 9pm and I don’t want to leave the house any more XD

    Two parcels in two days…

Yesterday it was 7TV Fantasy which has nothing for me to paint…

    IMG_20250328_144137_edit_645458989648472

And today Guards of Traitors Toll which has 61 miniatures (including the preorder bonus Drunken Dwarf) to assemble and paint.

    IMG_20250329_135959

I’ll just put them in the queue with the Afrika Korps army…

I love those old school designs.

Apologies to everyone for not participating in the thread much. Can’t really concentrate on reading online currently. Words just go to a blur. (Not visually but they stop making sense if you get what I mean) Reading books is all fine. So it’s really probably the reading a foreign language that gets me.

Bow back to watching the split screen TerrainFest Winners video XD
