    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/forums/topic/introduce-yourselves-new-member-thread/

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil. This includes no philosophy, no home computer culture wars.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Question of the week:

    • Are you feeling ok? Yes we had this question a few times in the past but I feel currently it’s rather important.

And now back to the show.

    Pledge: not loose my sanity.

Answer: unsure. Ask me again next week.

    Music:

And now back to doing laundry, taking care of sick kid and maybe paint some more Cobblestone Minis.

Pledge: Assemble some Afrika Korps and paint some of them.

    Am I OK?

Better than I was before Xmas. Been in the mood for hobby more often and getting some stuff done.

In the cosmic scale of things I’m doing very well compared with the people of Ukraine and their cool headed president. If I’d been having that conversation with the ginger wig and his pet muppet I would not have been polite.

    (sorry about the politics)

Pledge: continue with Necrons, and go outside for a real bike ride this week!

Am I OK: I’m TIRED. Living in Canada these days is like living above a meth lab that’s about to explode. Every day, some new insanity. Krasnov the Orange and Eye Shadow Couchman are two of the worst people in history. Their performance yesterday marks the end of America as a world force.  The EU, UK, Aus, NZ, will step in, hopefully, and Canada is there with the right side of history.  🇨🇦🇺🇦🇪🇺🇬🇧🇦🇺🇳🇿

It’s a shame that there’s no one you can report your annoying neighbours to…

technically that’d be the UN, right ?
    //

Anyways … I’ve survived the yearly insanity that is the start of Carnaval(tm).
Plan is to watch a parade float (I think that’s the correct English word) either on sunday or monday depending on my energy levels.

    20250301_15105320250301_145035

It’s amazing to be there with the entire crowd singing along to the songs as well as some of the crazy acts.

As I got the entire week of holiday there’s insane hobby potential ahead.
Of course knowing myself chances of actually doing said hobby are probably zero as I often find myself unable to start anything.

I was supposed to have a delivery of Dark Objects today, but as I was away the fcker decided to not leave it with a neighbour and also chose not to leave a not of an attempted delivery either. If it hadn’t been for their app I wouldn’t even know when or where I could expect to collect it, which for some reason is tuesday …

Maybe my Port Royal kickstarter will arrive this week as well ? (as if I needed another distraction while trying to do some hobby … )

    It really was.
Especially when those 3 popes were doing their bit. The one in the middle speaking in nonsense latin, the one on the left “translating” it in plain language and last one doing the same bit in “sign language”.

    Definitely going again next year.

It is Sunday. XLBS was fun. Yesterday I made waffles and in general just took a day off. Which was very nice.

    Escapism is really needed.

Hope you lot all enjoy your Sunday!

Sunday is the day I get most time for hobby as the light is better and I’m not knackered after work.

Did a bit of gardening this morning… attacked a hedge with electric hedge trimmers. It fought back as it’s very spiny, but I won.

Assembled of sprue of Afrika Korps plastics plus working on the metals (machine gun and mortar teams) Metal assembly was minimal, but the bases needed a bit of work to conceal the base of the minis… milliput is my usual solution.

Don’t want to assemble too many plastics yet as I don’t have the rules for squad building and it would be annoying to build the figures and find I had broken squad creation rules.

Waiting for the superglue and milliput to dry (it’s sunny… a south facing conservatory is good for drying laundry and miniatures).

@pagan8th In 3rd edition Bolt-action it’s 1 officer + up to 4 men as ‘command squad’ in the platoon HQ.
Ordinary infantry squads would be 1 NCO + 4 with up to 5 additional.
Rifles are always safe to select for everyone. LMG’s, Assault rifles and submachine guns are the only ones that tend to have limits depending on the type of squad your building (SS, Paratroopers, Gebirgsjaeger), but you can even have one or two in regular Heer.

    https://app.warlordgames.com/home

Here’s one I made by clicking a few random options. I forgot to include the LMG (15 points extra per infantry squad).

You can have a company level HQ (same setup as company HQ, except higher ranking officer and points cost obviously). Company can take a chaplain, which is an unarmed model that adds a morale bonus.

Sunday! Nice warm day, but maybe snow tomorrow, then back to warm. Spring is finally here.

Some hobby planned today, cold isn’t killing me, so much, and nothing much else planned.

    Thanks @limburger.

My friend got the Battle of Bulge starter and bought the hardback rules. Having seen the subatomic font size in the A5 rulebook he gave me I have just ordered a hardback for myself and added the Armies of Germany.

Been an expensive week for Bolt Action as I’ve spent around £170. I’m sure once I see the rules I’ll be adding a few more things.

Tempted to take a trip to Crooked Dice website and buy an Indiana Jones for a bit of silliness. I already have the 7TV Pulp Macguffins which include the Ark of the Covenant… I know that have a Salah, but not sure if there’s a Marian Ravenwood…

They don’t have a Marion? Odd. I’m sure they have something that’s useable.
