Using construction themes in tabletop games

I work as a home construction estimator and I love tabletop games. I am curious if anyone tried games where you build or plan structures as part of the game. I think it could be fun to combine strategy and building, like planning a small city or a base. Do you know games like this, or do you have ideas how to add building elements in tabletop games? Do you mean as part of a wargaming which would feel like RTS base buidling or do you mean the whole game is buiding a small city abit like SimCity?
