Have been painting on my Bolt Action projects.
Really would have loved to open a project over the weekend to have a contender for the Warlord voucher, but in the end I didnt want to rush the project. Photos will have to be made, texts to be written, tutorials to be prepared.
But while figuring out the camera I made some photos which I would like to share.
October 1, 2018 at 10:12 pm #1278566Hey there.
Long time lurker, first time poster (at least with anything of mine). I’ve only been in the hobby a couple years, collected a couple dozen or so models over several different games (namely Batman/DCU Miniatures Game, Monsterpocalypse and WarMachine/Hordes), but none of them have been completed. With the release of Monsterpocalypse looming, decided I need to get my Planet Eaters worded on.
I apologize that the photos aren’t the best.
Anyways, I’m working with a bold, pop art style in mind (bold, blocky colors like a comic or pulp magazine). The main colors I’m working with are:
Goblin Green and Scaly Hide for the flesh, Crystal Blue for the energy, and Greedy Gold for the armor plating. All paints are obviously Army Painter colors.
I did make an error in my prep work though. Gorghadra and the minions to the left in the photo were primed with a dark gray. The minions to the right were primed in a white. I’m having to do a lot more layering to get the greens to match uniformly. My stupidity for buying a new can of white primer for my Legion Stormtroopers and getting excited to just prime everything.
Edit: Is there a way to delete posts? I accidentally submitted this one twice? I deleted the content of the one above.
October 2, 2018 at 3:43 am #1278691After a short distraction on a game starting with “Kill” and ending with “Team” I’m back to my USMC for BA/Konflikt 47.
Status in my slightly neglected project log
some work in progress pics of my USMC pioneer detachment.
October 2, 2018 at 12:54 pm #1278940No pics just yet, but well on the way to finishing another ten man tactical squad by week end.
Which’ll leave me at 99 marines in total… Totally not by design (sic)
In a completely unrelated note – I can’t wait for next weeks painting task… ?

October 4, 2018 at 5:15 am #1280015Secret Weapon Miniatures has a 10% off sale of their pumpkin-themed “Field of Scream” bases until the 10th, so I thought I’d paint up a few FoS bases I have. The bases in the picture are actually from the SWM “Bag-o-Crap” factory rejects, so you might be able to see where I applied the putty to fill in the air bubbles. The animated pumpkin miniature is from Ral Partha Europe’s “Wizard’s Conclave” miniature line.
October 4, 2018 at 5:28 am #1280021I have been closing in on the last of my Ash and Oak characters for Wolsung. Only Fredrick Olafsson left to paint and he is part way there.
As usual, more pictures and process posted on my project blog;
