I’ma bit underwhelmed.
It’s nice enough, and you don’t have to paint it which is great but 2 smallish sections? I’d want to see a bit more for my money really.
I came third in a small tourney the other week and won some store credit, with it I bought the Large Corner Ruin. It’s the same Battlefield in a box line as this one Darrell is showing. It’s really really nice stuff, it feels very sturdy and the paint job on it is quite nice. The fact it is also prepainted is very nice – I’m too busy painting my minis to be bothered making and painting terrain it just doesn’t appeal to me. I recommend the Battlefield in a box line.
I’m a bit mystified by the pricing structure of these ruins some of the sets like the large corner ruin look very good value, where as this particular set (crumbling remnants), you don’t seem to get so much and they are all the same price
This is an outstanding piece of work. It’s the size it is, I thought it would be smaller, mind you. It’s the first piece of Battlefield-in-a-box I bought. It’s cheap and solid, heavy. You could happily smash someone’s skull in with it (to give you an idea of how solid it is!). I also have Pine Wood and Large Hill, both superb pieces of work. The Large Pine Wood, especially. Today I got the Gallery of Valour and a Swamp (and have ordered more from Bow’s deal). They are fantastic and built for gamers (there are clear spaces where your… Read more »
@poosh thanks for your enthusiastic endorsement. I get the impression they’re no going to fall over when you put a couple of metal models up on the top floor.
I wish we had had this review before the backstage offer the other day.
I’ll be to look out for them at Salute
I’m a big fan of the battlefield in a box range as well. I got the Tree of Woe and the swamps, and they are just fantastic. Tree of Woe is now a regular piece of scenery being used for fantasy battles at my club and the Lizardmen player is loving the swamps.
