Join the Republic of Rome With Pendraken’s New Releases
January 11, 2012 by dracs
Pendraken Miniatures have released a new selection of 10mm Republican Romans so now you can field an army from before the days of Caesar Augustus.
These miniatures would set you up nicely for a game based around the Roman civil war between Mark-Anthony and Cleopatra and Octavian.

Err no Sam they wouldn’t. This is the Republican army before the reforms of Marius, the army which fought Hannibal circa 220-202BC
why wouldn’t they?! they can be from when ever and be whatever you want them to be!
So you’d use Space Marines as Carthaginians too?
you can of course do what you like but historically these look like a mix but the feathered hats are most certainly historically from the Punic Wars sort of era- ie Hannibal (but which one, I think there was at least 3?)
Second of the three Punic wars for Hannibal

There is this little thing called historical accuracy, and its sort of funny how most people think its fairly important to get an historical mini historically accurate. I mean, sure, if you want to pretend that Roman’s dressed in kit that was pre Marius are in fact Tralala Tiddlytroops from the planet MyheadissofarupmybuttIcanseedaylightthroughmyteeth, then go right ahead. But when you get laughed off the table, don’t say i didn’t warn you.
I’d love to get some 10mm historicals for Warmaster Ancients, but no one is really interested around here. I might be able to convince people of Flames of War or the new edition of Victory at Sea, but I’ll want to see the rules for the new editions before starting.
It’s a shame really. I do love exterminating…I, uh, mean civilizing barbarians.
Crucifixion? Good. Out the door first cross on the left
If I didnt have a huge pile of unpainted C2 Romans in 15mm I might be tempted- I do prefer to crush those pesky Italians with my heavy horse from the mighty parthian/Sassinid empire
