Phil Yates, who a lot of folks will know from Battlefront Miniatures, has a new wargame coming to Kickstarter soon. Angels One Six: Battle of Britain is going to drop you into the midst of high-octane dogfights during World War II with a new set of rules and miniatures.

The game will make use of high-quality pre-painted scale aircraft, which come mounted on telescopic flight stands so that you get the full 3D experience on the tabletop. You'll be trading height for speed and speed for manoeuvrability in a game where all of the physics and aeronautics matter. You just won't have to deal with the maths!

The game has been designed to be quick to learn and play. You'll take on the role of a whole flight of four fighters going up against your opponent however you could also have a dozen players around a table all responsible for one plane each and get that true team feel!

Games are quick and deadly, taking around thirty to forty-five minutes to play. This means that you can dive in and play out a campaign like the Battle of Britain in an afternoon or an evening. For example, the Battle of Britain from the box will take you through a four-part campaign where you refight historical scenarios like wild dogfights and bomber hunts!

In a fun bonus for the game, players will each get their own Cockpit Display, which will cover everything their plane is doing in the heat of the moment. A nice way to get you absorbed in the experience. We've even seen more of the miniatures up close and they're looking pretty good!

The Handley Page Hampden Bomber  was especially shared by the team for Lloyd's benefit who has been rather intrigued by the game. It does sound like it could be great fun and there are plenty of demos taking place right now to get the gameplay just right. You can find out more about the game over on their website OR Facebook.
