Grab Great Escape’s New Flat Caps & Truncheons Starter Set

If you missed it at Salute, you can now get your hands on the excellent new two-player Starter Set for The Chicago Way by Great Escape Games. Flat Caps & Truncheons is up on their website right now, featuring two factions ready to scrap it out on the streets of Birmingham.
Flat Caps & Truncheons // Great Escape Games
This new set takes the fighting from the streets of Chicago to those of Post-War Birmingham as the deadly Peaky Blinders take on the British Police. The Chicago Way is a great game in that it helps to blend a bit of Hollywood action with Historical scraps that you rarely see on the tabletop.
Peaky Blinders // The Chicago Way
The miniatures in the set cover the Peaky Blinders, as mentioned above, and the British Police (also available separately). You will also find a set of rules for The Chicago Way guiding you through this period of 1920s gang warfare and the campaigns that expand out from your first few games.
Coppers // The Chicago Way
The set also comes with all of the markers, dice and cards that you need for playing the game, so all you'll need is a bit of appropriate terrain and you could get stuck in. I do like the idea of building a board based around Birmingham and its network of canals. You could have a bit of fun pushing a few coppers into the deep before escaping down alleyways!
This set also comes with a new special miniature for The Chicago Way in the form of Molly Suffolk.
Molly // The Chicago Way
Slot her into your games and have a bit of fun seeing what mischief she can get up to. The rules found within the set are exactly the same as those already available for The Chicago Way, so if you get stuck into this Starter Set, you're not going to be seeing anything drastically different apart from the change of "battleground".
A Bostin' Getaway!
If you want to introduce some more period-specific bits and bobs to your games of The Chicago Way, Great Escape Games has also added the Austin Heavy Twelve - Black Wiltshire Police to their webstore.
Austin Heavy Twelve - Black Wiltshire Police // Great Escape Games
This is a fully painted Oxford Diecast miniature that you can use to make your tabletops pop. This four-door model was used by the Wiltshire Police and was completely black, bar the silver running boards on either side. Give your coppers a sleek ride to pootle around in. Maybe you could even use it for a daring getaway?
The Chicago Way looks like an exciting game to dive into and will hopefully see more and more added to the range to match Dead Man's Hand. Could you be tempted by the new Starter Set?

These look awesome. Love 1920s mob shootups. Got to live-fire a Thompson .45 SMG a few years back and it’s every bit as fun as the movies show it to be!
The coppers second and third from left look like they’re playing rifle shaped guitars 🙂
Might pick this game up at the Expo this year. I enjoy Dead Man’s Hand and as far as I can tell it’s the same rules with a few changes.
Love it! Now we need a box of plastic gangsters and life would be grand.
Given I live a hop, skip and a jump from their manor it’d be rude not to.
I just wish GEG would do a plastic release of gangsters. If they did they’d have me hooked.
Wish I had more time and money…
