Kabuki Sound The March & Release The 35mm Imperial Vixens

Kabuki Studios have released their latest 35mm pin-up model, a rather sexy heroine clad in some iconic armour from a galaxy far, far away.
This new model comes with two head options, letting you either have her fine locks of hair flowing free in true pin-up style, or give her a helmet to disguise her amidst the rest of the Imperial forces.
Kabuki have done an excellent job at producing cool pin-up style models in the past, but I think this one to be especially good due to its understated style. The Imperial Vixen is a fun sculpt that should make for an interesting painting project for any hardcore Star Wars fan. It definitely has a feeling of a classic scifi pin-up, you could almost imagine this appearing on an old 70s or 80s film poster.

Looks awesome but 35mm is an odd scale to choose. It’s not really useful in any game but won’t have the display piece scale of 54mm
..maybe you can sneak them into the BMG or MUMG and nobody will notice 😉
Most games you would normally consider “28mm” are actually more like 35mm when you actually measure the minis; including the likes of Infinity, Malifaux, BMG, and most of the GW range.
“Scale” in the wargaming industry is all over the place, especially where “28mm” is concerned. The closest range to actual 28mm scale (if such a thing even really exists) is the GW LotR range. Most of those models do sit closer to 28mm in height.
Many 28mm games are closer 32mm. 35mm however is noticeably larger even than 28mm heroic
The space marine I’m holding in my hand is exactly 35mm tall 😛 But that’s part of the issue with the wargaming end of the modelling spectrum, for some bizarre reason, our industry doesn’t really use fractional measurements, and most people use “28mm” scale, which is so varied from manufacturer to manufacturer (and even model to model within a single manufacturer). For Icarus stuff, a 6ft human figure standing upright would be almost exactly 37.5mm, which would be 1/48th scale. Naw. 35mm is just the term we use when we’re being honest about our current location in scale creep.
You know, how 30mm was the honest 28mm scale ten years ago? Same basic principle, just updated to today.
That does look good but I prefer my female Storm Troopers in same armor as they male counterparts.
I guess the style is meant to be of that of a pin-up? There is another one in the link with the girl throwing her hair back, which probably better emphasizes that point.
That said, the boob plate is a little ridiculous / disappointing when you take into account Captain Phasma’s armour which has no such thing (and the reaction that went with it at the time).
Well, it’s a pin up piece. It’s meant to be somewhat cheesy. Phasmas armour is nice but is 0% pin up.
Well, I mean, I get what it is meant to be, I just think it looks a bit silly.
Plus the idea of boob plated imperial stormtroopers is somewhat tainted to me, what with the reaction from some areas of the internet when it came to the reveal of Phasma’s design.
What exactly looks silly?
She does match some cosplay storm troopers I’ve seen, but those cosplays were definitely on the cheesecake side of things.
So just go buy some Imperial Assault storm troopers.

Nice model, but how long before the Disney lawyers have their say? Don’t get me wrong, I would prefer to live in a world with less corporate bullying.
