Red Bard Bring Their New Oldhammer Undead To Kickstarter
March 3, 2025 by brennon
Red Bard Games are on Kickstarter right now with a new Oldhammer-themed campaign that aims to bring a range of stunning Undead miniatures to the tabletop for use in your Fantasy wargames.
Undead Hordes // Red Bard Games
This is the sixth of Red Bard Games' campaigns, which introduces a new range of Undead miniatures, Skeletons and Zombies, themed to match the sculpting style of the 80s and the 90s. All of the miniatures are produced in a hard-wearing 3D printable resin which manages to capture the glorious detail of these retro-themed miniatures.
We start with the skeletons and the Undead Riders who get themselves a fearsome Command element to lead the way.
Undead Riders Command // Red Bard Games
The classic horses are back in action alongside a range of sculpts that wouldn't look out of place on old Warhammer rulebooks and heavy metal albums. Each of them could have been heroes in their own right, given new life and purpose by a foul necromancer.
The Command element above can then lead these Undead Riders. They have a variety of weapons for you to choose from and I like those classic shield designs. I can see see the "shield sprue" that they would have come from back in the day.

The Skeletons give you a fairly good elite unit to throw into your armies. You could use them as standard Skeleton cavalry, or you could upgrade them into Wights that serve alongside the various Barrow Lords in your armies.
A lot of your army is then probably built up of Zombies. There is a good Command set for this collection as well, "led" by some rather interesting characters. I like that the lady of the manor still holds some sway amongst the masses. Maybe she was killed by them and now finds herself endlessly having to hang out with the peasantry!
Zombies // Red Bard Games
There are also three sets of Zombies for you to use when building your regiment. Each set comes with individual sculpts for your zombies, and when mixed, you get a neat slavering horde just waiting to scoff your brains.
One of the special miniatures from the Kickstarter is this Zombie Dragon being ridden by the Lich King.
Zombie Dragon // Red Bard Games
The Zombie Dragon is another great classic take on the winged drakes of yesteryear, and the Lich will end up being the perfect villain to lead your armies. He clearly wears some terrible, magical crown and that sceptre has been dragged from the treasure trove of an ancient sorcerer to serve him once again.
There is plenty more for you to check out as part of this campaign, including a rather glorious Wight Standard Bearer. You can see more of the miniatures unlocked via Stretch Goals below.

I really like the Skeleton Bagpiper and the Banshee in particular. The Kickstarter campaign is still running for another two weeks (at the time of writing), so you've got plenty of time for you to dive into this collection and decide which miniatures you want to scoop up.
Are you going to be leading an Undead legion soon?
