The Dwarf Steel Behemoth Stomps Into Kings Of War From Mantic

Mantic Games has shown off a big brute of a war machine coming to the tabletop for the Dwarfs of Kings Of War. See what you make of the Steel Behemoth.
This model is coming to the tabletop in October and would work as the perfect support for your soldiers and armies as they march into battle during The Edge Of The Abyss Campaign that Mantic Games are currently running.
As well as being no slouch when it comes to ramming the enemy it also comes with some guns mounted on the top to give you extra support as your slow and steady bulwark of steel marches forward.
I think they've done a great job on this new contraption for the Dwarfs and the sculpting on the crew is leaps and bounds beyond what we've seen in the past for these stunties. A great step forward and hopefully we'll see some more updates for the Dwarfs in the near future!

Was not expecting this. I thought it would be some kind of tank with treads and a sort of giant spiked rollers. This is really nice. As soon as it comes out I will buy it.

I really love the look of this. It is interesting to note how much Mantic’s models have improved. Look at the Dwarfs in the howdah and compare them to the original dwarf model used to show scale. A huge improvement in character there Mantic, well played. I will be getting myself one of these.
I agree with the comments about the improvement in the sculpting for these models. I never took to the original Dwarf figures, but if the ones in the Howdah are a representation of the next range of models, I may re-visit the Dwarves as an army choice.
They look alright if you swap the Heater shields for Roman Scuta or something similar. If you look at the Bulwarkers, with their big square shields and they don’t look too bad.
This mini has me considering the Dwarves as my next faction to tackle in Kings of War. Brilliant!
On a side note, just visited Mantic’s site to put in a pre-order and it is not up yet, *pouts and throws mini tantrum …. bugger I hate waiting 🙁

Love this model. I think it’s still fantasy enough because it’s elephant sized so can be used in our Field of Glory battles. We use these rules to play our fantasy battles. The GW dwarfs are getting to SciFi looking for my liking.

Nice to see the much needed stuntie beastie, but I’m waiting for the mammoth for the Ogres. Hopefully, it’ll beat Reaper’s Bones latest KS versions to the shelves.
It is very cool. To be fair those original dwarfs are a pretty old kit at this stage and the company has come on in leaps and bounds since then.
That’s a pretty cool model. I might be tempted to switch the flame gun for a cannon. I kind of like the Mantic Dwarfs, they could just do with changing the shields to something that looks a bit more Dwarfish
