Andrew’s Soviet army is infantry heavy and so his opponents will need to pour a lot of fire into then to stop them.
Soviet make stronk tank, yes.
I always like to see people playing Soviets, especially if the game doesn’t treat them as a faceless “red mass.”
Za Rodinu! 🙂
soviets can get a lot of activation dice…a hell of a lot.
Many dice means many possible pins to annoy your opponent with. He has no tank?
You can absolutely use an elite army for the Soviets. Actually, any army but I think you need a balance of average troops with some vets for the tough jobs.
I’d love to see more Tanks for the Soviets
Better Red than Dead?
Soviet list are fun. Once you get away from the basics even more so. I run a tank war list with most infantry as tank riders with SMGs, Scouts in Bren carriers and various SUs in support depending on time period. We try to be somewhat historical in our list/time periods.
Is he bringing a Sherman next?
Interesting army.
Does BA have rules for the “anti-retreat machine gun squads” the Soviets employed to keep their own troops from fleeing?
He looks pretty confident
Did he manage to scrounge up some men for his command unit?
Soviets need more tanks
Cheeky flamethrower.
Cute!
I wish we had seen Anto battle Andrew after hearing how they both trounced their initial oppoenents.
How about soviets and japanese.
I love this battle 🙂
i didn’t use the flame throwing T34 of doom, just maxiums.
To be honest the T34 died straight away, buit still won by using it a a bus for the tank riders to get the objective and run back off the table.
Had some help from the US airforce that game too 😉
Soviets just dont seem to be my thing, despite the mass of men
I’d be tempted to play Soviets if I started Bolt Action, but I would want to (try to) keep my collection small. So perhaps they’re not the best for that.
