Tiller and Whipstaff is a rule set by Rod Langton for 1:1200 Naval Combat in the Age of Sail.  I sat down briefly with some folks were were setting up for an Anglo-Dutch high seas throw-down!

Oh, I’ll have to look into these rules to see how they compare with Oak and Iron.

Fleets on the table top are always cool to see!

quick google suggests that the rules are designed for large fleet actions.
I kind of doubt Oak&Iron will be that big

Thanks for the kind words. That was my game, and I’ve been working on these fleets for @ 20 years. Almost all Langtons, with a couple of old Navwar models snuck in to provide bulk – they are cheap and suitable for fireships and hired merchants IMO. The ratlines are old pantyhose donated by my wife that I stretch on a frame and hit with multiple (I dunno 20? 30?) coats of spray varnish until they are stiff.
