Calling A Close To The Flames Of War D-Day Boot Camp

That’s it for the Flames of War D-Day Boot Camp. It has been a fantastic weekend of building, painting, and, of course, gaming.

Thanks to everyone who came and took part, and to everyone who has been following our progress on the Live Blog too.

As we wrap up, it is important we take a moment to look back on the history of Normandy and what happened in a time where the world lost track of its sanity.

Thanks for all your hard work and content over the last 3 days guys.

That song was so evocative – we shouldn’t ever forget the terrible sacrifices my grandad’s generation had to make to defend freedom.

Well I said on Friday I had never gamed at this scale before, I think I’m ready to give it a shot and pick up the Starter set, I can see my Grandson enjoying this as well as me.

Wow great video with a great message. It left me quite speechless and emotional especially the montage with song at the end. Great piece of cinematography guys. Well done!!!!

Who cut the unions ? Thanks guys for getting me through the night shift at work with this coverage. And please keep on doing Let’s Plays of this game.

Fantastic coverage – thank you very much! The only thing I think may be missing is a Let’s Play style introduction to the game for us armchair gamers. Otherwise spot on as usual!

I’m not crying… I’m not crying…

Thanks for letting me and the lads be part of this. I’m glad we could share their stories and do our part (small though it was) to keep their memory alive.

a great weekend events gang thank you very much, both me and wargamer dog have been confined to barracks with old age and health issues and this has been a very welcome diversion. Tomorrow is the film the longest day for me perhaps some painting if i am lucky with wargamer dog my trusty sidekick. i am so tempted with an American force in 15mm to complement my bolt action one, then i get the chance to field masses of tanks and vehicles without selling a kidney to fund it

just watched to final video twice now, hats off to the editing team for a fitting end to a great weekend mixing remembrance and hobby. For me an ex serviceman it was moving hearing the song and seeing the old newsreels but equally so the youngsters getting into historical learning while having fun enjoying the freedoms so terribly won, the future of our hobby great to see.

This was an absolutely great event. I’ve been in the gaming hobby for years (on and off – DBA/DBM, Warhammer, extremely new to Flames of War). Having an event like this is just the ticket for getting new people into the hobby, and breaking down those barriers of thinking the game is too complicated or I’ll never remember all of this. You guys did a great job. I look forward to following more of your posts. Have a great day!

Good coverage as always, these events are a great way to see a bit about systems I haven’t had a chance to see in person yet.

Great weekend of coverage. Hope to make it over for one of these boot camps one day. Until then, I appreciate all the work from the team to put together the posts, videos, etc. and to the participants for sharing their experience with us.
