Checking Out The Dropfleet Dashboard From Dark Ops

We take a look at the awesome Dashboard that Dark Ops has put together for use with Dropfleet Commander condensing everything from the tabletop into one place.

Look out for them towards the beginning of next year and we're going to test out the prototype today!

This does make viewing your fleet a little easier and allows you to use clear bases to see the tabletop beneath, especially when it's a nice Deep-Cut Studio mat!

Great idea! Think I’d prefer having all my fleets info in one place, so looking forward to picking a couple of these up.

Looks interesting but I see both the pros and cons. I will have to wait with my judgement until I get my pledge and can see myself how fiddly it is to adjust the damage and spikes with the ship attached.

Neat idea but I think personally I would like having the dials with the ships.

interesting, like to see how they scale up, perhaps one per battlegroup

So – did someone at the event try one of these and how did it work. Was it still easy enough for both parties to track orbital layer and damage on the ships?
As fiddly as the bases are – they at least allow everybody to see the status of any given ship.
Still – the looks of these is great and the idea is pretty neat too. I am just not 100% sure about their utility. Would be great to hear some first hand experiences.
Cheers

That’s a useful addition. The dials on the base seem to be a sure way to mess with the placement sooner or later.

Now i do like the idea of them, and i`ll be watching out for them in the new year. I do prefer clear bases, there a lot better then the old black one`s.

This looks fantastic. Seeing these beautiful mats in use I’d been thinking what a shame it was having the black bases hide the detail. This looks like a very elegant solution.

I also think it’ll be less of a problem having the dials off the table than it might initially appear – simply because the dials aren’t easy to read from a distance anyway. So as it is, i think your opponent is likely to be constantly asking you to clarify what orbital layer you’re in, how much damage you’ve taken, etc.

If you place the dials beside the table rather than between the table and you it might even be easier for your opponent to see and keep track of what’s happening to your fleet.

I’m torn, on one hand I like that it keeps the ships from being bumped. On the other it’s nice to have the info on the ship itself.

I could see the dash board being very useful especially when ships start getting close together.

@brennon Oooooh, I try to streamline any game I play to keep only models on the table and maybe some non obtrusive status markers, so those DarkOps dashboards are perfect!
