Dropfleet Commander Boot Camp – Friday

Checking Out Rob's Painted Scourge Fleet
We take a look at the fleet painted up by Rob, of the Drop Beasts (more on that this weekend), who has gone for a very deep sea theme for his Scourge Fleet for this weekend.
They're looking great and it would be awesome to see them doing battle over the next couple of days!
That colour scheme does work well with scourge. I like non-standard paint schemes!
really great job !!
at least they’re not yellow, nice job
Wow! Love the translucent blues
it is loking very nice, have a fun bootcamp
kill it before it lays eggs!
Those details are impressive (and intimidating)
Lovely paint jobs on those minis
Great scheme Rob. There’s no way I could get that much done in a day. Given the organic shape of the Scourge and the blue color scheme, it kinda reminds me of the Minbari from Babylon 5.
Neither could I get it done in a day:-)
I may have to attempt influencing my gf’s color scheme
Nice looking scheme. I’m torn between doing something similar to my ground forces, or even flipping the colours around (main colour highlights) or playing with something more opalescent like the box scheme.
Finally catching upon the comments thatnks for all your kind words. And ideas about how i do my shaltari.
As to the inspiration this is it:

I like the class having different color scheme
I’m going to prime my scourge fleet light purple and then ink it with a dark purple just like my scourge DZC army.
And if you get close enough to see anything more than blue and purple, you are dead!
For your Shaltari: Why I was searching for more pictures of your Scourge inspiration I stumbled over a picture of an European mantis. Why not go for something like this, maybe similar to the Tlaxcallan colour scheme you can find on page 149 of the Dropzone Commander rulebook? A pale green with silver.
nicely done Rob, looking good!
I like the idea of color variations for the different classes, very neat.
Amazing paint work. Nice t-shirt
great vid bomb Justin,
cool.
Just love the detail of the colors fading into each other and the subtle highlights.
Seeing that this fleet is using all the “cooler” colors maybe do your other fleet with more “warmer” colors, reds, yellows and oranges maybe adding some blacks and possibly touch of brown for some variation.
How about something like this:
This paint job looks really really good! as for few hours of work thats a kick ass job and i really dig blue scheme
