Hench 'Jacks & Plenty Of Neat Moments

It's interesting how the games ebb and flow in Warmachine & Hordes. Here you can see two rather immense looking armies with Colossus at their command facing off.

One thing that is missing from many a Warmahordes table though is terrain - but I reckon that that's made up for by the larger than life creatures you play with.

Collossals are awesome. Was lucky enough to pick on up at crisis on the cheap last year, but what a daunting prospect to paint…

Colossal models tower over the battlefield 🙂

I like the color scheme of that khador army, very original.

Models look great, terrain looks crap (as in the layout of a few tiny items, the pieces themselves are actually ok). Much like most WM/H games. Hopefully mk3 will fix that a little.

I have yet to get myself a Collossal for any of my armies but it is on the list. @brennon have you guys heard anything about the possibility of them coming out with new or different Collossals for MKIII? And true, the lack of terrain is interesting.

There’s push for more terrain and not having the terrain sitting around the edges coming in the 2016 Steamroller guidelines this June =) That should make it more relevant.

As a potential new convert to the game, I am hoping terrain becomes more prevalent.

I do love terrain normally but it’s a nice change – it simplifies what you can see happening on the board but it does come with its challenges

Lack of terrain in this kind of game can actually make sense. In a game with such colossal creatures both commanders might well look for plains where they’re army can be fully utilised. In any situation where one general could choose a battlefield the terrain would be very one-sided

Yes I have noticed this is a game with little or no terrain, I suppose that does make it easier to get a gaming club going as there is very little needed to get a good set of gaming tables going.

Ben, I agree with you. These tables need something to make me feel like we’re playing in the Iron Kingdoms. It is a high fantasy and steampunk setting. Why do we only get one tiny hill?

Those big guys really dominate the battle field don’t they 🙂
