Isn’t 3+ a little too much for soviet armor as a bog test? I mean, you have to roll 3+ every time you asault some yankee infantry in Woods?

I think 3+ is good for that… too much would it propably make to fast…

Abrahms have 2+, and that’s a nice thing for NATO campers!

Wouldn’t it be better if it was the other way around for bog checks? I don’t know how much right off the top of my head the weight of the T-62 but the M1 is a 68 ton tank and known to get bogged down in deep mud.

Love these vids on FoW 😀 Even if you guys make small mistakes, these things are great to learn the rules.

I hope I wasn’t the only one willing the Soviets to try and outflank the M1, before realising that this was meant to just show off the basics. That said, with the Soviets shooting the way they were, I doubt it would matter what armour they were (not) hitting 😉

Yeah, the Soviets in this example weren’t using the smartest of tactics. The question I asked was about the why the second tank rolled blithely out into the road by himself after the first tank bogged? Why go out there and get murdered without support? But of course, and as you say, this was just an example to show how the rules worked. And I also agree with @bigrita about the bogging checks. They were a little harsh, at least for the Soviets. Yes, the M1 has a more powerful engine, but the T-72s are MUCH lighter. They should frankly… Read more »

I really like the differences in the rules compared to FoW

That shoot and scoot rule looks awesome if all tanks get it.

Looks to be a direct copy of FoW rather than a new rules set. Have to say I’m disappointed.

Looked it up the T-62 is a 37 ton tank it should have a lower chance to bog down then the M1.

I was an Abrams tanker. My track never bogged even in mud or snow. I never threw a track either.

I like that the tactical options are available to both sides rather than nation specific special rules

Oh God, yes, @britfan45 . Could not possibly agree more. Those nation-specific rules or even unit-specific rules in FoW (Jumbo Shermans, Infiltrate, Patton, Stormtrooper Move, etc etc etc) were a big reason I never came near old FoW. Very glad to see that Team Yankee has largely ditched these. Sure, different armies might have a better or worse chance to do certain things based on tactics, doctrine, or training, but the laws of physics no longer change based on what color uniform you’re wearing. 🙂

Simple enough. I have issue with the T-72 bogging more easily than the Abraham. Should be the other way around. The t-72 is significanlty lighther than the Abraham…but I am not the game designer!

The M1 is a beast. I’ve seen them go places that even a Billy Goat wouldn’t try. In fact we could go places where our supporting units couldn’t go, so we would have to turn around and go somewhere else.

A common thing I remember hearing grunts, mechanics, engineers, and support ash and trash ask was, “how the hell did you get that thing over there!?!”

Ok like the fact bog checks now cross checks vary depending on what unit is trying to move thru the terrain. Plus the fact that bogs auto clear on the start of your turn, the new movement skills available to all will make a big difference to how this game plays. One of the changes mentioned here that I think is a good change is the short and tall terrain making it alot clearer for play plus the area terrain changes mentioned in the rulebook vid too, just tightens things up abit and should speed up games. Would like to… Read more »

I really like the Picture-in-Picture. You guys should do battle reports something like this.

Bogging down so easily seems really annoying.
