Justin Gets Some Paint Onto His PHR Fleet

Justin sits down with suetoniuspaulinus from the community to paint up his PHR fleet and get some additional colour onto these ships before getting in a game or two.

If you have any tips for Justin or indeed thoughts on how you'd paint your own fleet get them in the comments below.

I really would like to see some faces on the ships that would be bloody marvelous.

you could paint goggles on them and add some blue like the Minions or some brown and put curious George sticker on the nose.

the yellow, tempered with a darker wash and all the techy bits on the ships in metal will look very nice, I think

I was going to poke some fun at the banana fleet, but I have to say it is looking nice.

Plus it’ll be a great contrast on the table when fighting more traditionally painted forces.

I think go with the black for the engine part as they would be a nice contrast and would make it look more like a bumblebee which I said about in an earlier comment.

I like the idea of a dark metallic like gunmetal for the inside bits. Black for the rear fin parts also sounds like a good idea. Green edging might work. You could also go with muscle car flames if you wanted to be really silly.

The PHR, with that big solid metal cover, it’s difficult to do washes on and look right, I would think. That gun section looks pretty good though! Keep that up.

I’m not sure if I can understand the appeal of yellow PHR Cruisers. But if you combine it with purple and black for the exhaust parts it might just look awesome.

PHR really have a fantastic aesthetic. Closely followed by the UMC in my opinion.

I’m hoping that Justin grabs some Anarchy stencils and adds some black hexes to the front of the ships to dial up the interest and break up the solid yellow.

I wasn’t too sold on the yellow color, but some of these suggestions – especially the one about making a yellow to orange gradient – make me think this could turn out to be a very cool looking fleet.
