As promised Lloyd has stepped up to the plate to take a look at the jungle components for Lost Patrol, what do you think guys? How do you make a jungle base?

Shouldn’t you be preparing to get married, @warzan !? 😛

Nice try, man. Even you can’t always be right, it seems. 😛

You could try a mix of teabag and loose tea for the basing but it would probably be best covering it before sticking the large plants in. I can understand where you’re coming from with the green floor but jungle floor is mostly going to be dead leaves, with small plants trying to break through to the sun so if you use colour it green wouldn’t you get something like the static grass issue you had?

the trouble with loose tea is that stuff smells quite a bit afterwards.
I’m not sure if you can get rid of the stink.

Can’t say I’ve had that problem myself using slightly crushed green tea and jasmine tea. Maybe a moisture issue I guess.

it may be better if you leave the stuff brown if the moss can get enough light grass will out grow it? @Lloyd

@Lloyd for once someone is going to come to the rescue of @warzan !
After going through with my trusty machete this is a place in the heart of my little slice of heaven I call home.

As you can see there are actual bits of greenry on the the ground. I am unsure if you can see it in this shot, but there are shoots of grass like the tufts you get for bases, but not your usual ground cover grasses.

Slightly different to my experience when travelling in Malaysia. That was most dead leaves with the odd bit of greenery trying to push through. It maybe then that all forests are different so guess the answer is to go with what looks good.
