Go Warsaw Pact, make the motherland proud
US!!
Yep, my vote went Red.
As a former US combat eng (1980’s) I’ve spent many months at the NTC (desert of CA (US)) trying to thwart Soviet tactics and numerical out match, not to mention US troops pretending very very well and playing inside baseball with both nations doctrine in their blood. First battles are going to be very “wrong” for both sides with leaders demanding their theories “work” while company grade and below Officers / NCOs and Troops sift through carnage to salvage something of the battle plan. Soviets would move too fast and soft depth NATO would absorb that initial push and rear… Read more »
In a NATO vs Warsaw Pact showdown, you may be right. In a strictly US vs Soviet, assuming mobilization is timely, I’d take US for better training, better motivation and better tech.
I agree with your first point. Whichever side recognizes the futility to static doctrine and responds to the reality of the battlefield will have a huge advantage.
In the world of reality the United Stats would win as my fiends would say but, on the table I think numbers will win more often so go Soviets for the win
It would have been a Pyrrus victory for anybody…
Soviet power supreme 😛
Well, watching the video of the players saying that the soviets so far only have tanks and hinds, then I’m thinking the US. I’m seeing A-10s, Paladins, M113s and Abrams all over the place and if the soviets just have tanks and choppers then they will lose just for the lack of combined arms.
will be close I think the US may pip them to the post with the troops?
The Soviet players will have to reenact Soviet strategy – bound to fail when the games is point based xD
In real life I imagine it would only be a matter of time before tactical nukes were used and then we all loose. But I am going to have to say the US if the Gulf War is anything to go by
I had a hard time making that choice. Soviets will be in greater number on the table but the equipment in general is of lesser quality, be it the range finder on the tank or the stabilisation system. Yes the gun on the t-72 is bigger but its going to have to deal with excellent cobalt armour, while the 105 of the M1 will penetrate the T-72. It will be a very interesting match none the less.
Those who voted US will realize their failure soon.
Where’s the option for mutually assured destruction?
I voted US but I will play soviet…this because after looking at the stats and after a test game my T 72 where smashed by abrams “on the move” firepower combined by sone of the new movement orders…only Hind have done something to them.
I think thag the brutal firepower of both will bring the decision on how will go to attack
The only real answer is no one wins
War on that scale would probably get to the point of millions of dead and possibly nuclear
Forward the Red Horde
Soviets would win clearly, they don’t care even about their own
Red All the Way!
