I already have the original and the Europe version of TtR. I plan to get the France and the Old West Map 6 edition. The box on the original edition is worn out from the many play throughs we have had.

I just picked up Ticket to Ride and played my first game. Is the only real difference between the editions the maps?

There are various different gameplay differences between each game. For example, in the France edition, you need to build the tracks before claiming your trains on them, the Europe version adds new tracks such as tunnels and ferries (as well as stations), etc.
