Drop Beasts is our epic team of Admirals who are playing in competitions for both Dropzone Commander and Dropfleet Commander at Hawk Wargames’ tournaments and further abroad too.

If you’re interested in getting involved message commodorerob with your details and maybe you’ll get a rather epic t-shirt too!

Rasmus is huge!!!! He must be well over 6 foot! Good luck forming Drop Beast US. Good luck in all future tournaments. 🙂

6′ isn’t tall to me as it is below my national average and I’m taller thena my national average.
6’5″/6’6″ that’s the start of being tall to me anyway

I don’t think Rasmus goes home between bootcamps.

he definitely went home between the last bootcamp, he nearly didn’t make it back for this one as he got delayed by an extra day in New York. we were worried about our big friend but he got there on the Friday afternoon/evening and had everything built before he went to the pub

I not only did go home, I did move continents – so there might be fewer bootcamps in the furture

Did some 40k tournaments years ago. Lots of fun, but exhausting.

When I saw the headline I thought for a second that “Drop beasts” was a new game from Hawk. Guess it would involve drop bears 🙂

Would LOVE to see this take off here in the States! So jealous of the guys in the UK who get in on these Boot Camps.

Would be loads of fun to play in a proper sized tournament. Any idea what are the good ones to hit up for a casual?

@glitchingout – depends where you are. The Hawk tournaments in Croydon are excellent fun, and no prior experience is necessary. There are often people competing who’ve never played the game before. My first tournament I was learning as I went.

There are tournaments in Brighton too that I know about, the Orbital Bombardment guys host some in Chessington and I think there are tournaments in Luton. I’m sure there are others, but those are the ones I know about as I’m in the southeast (UK).

If there was enough Dropnoun players in the Republic to do tournaments I’d totally establish a chapter down here.

Love the idea. Would love to join however other commitments and having never played a game of either would probably hamper me.

@nyilus27 – believe me, never having played a game of either will make you only slightly less experienced than several of the other team members. I learned the game (sort of) by entering a tournament and learning on job. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s very friendly and the rules are simple and intuitive enough that you’ll have fun even as you’re learning as you go along. Basically, if you’re interested you should join!
