The Basics Of Dropfleet Commander

Here Dave and Darren from Hawk Wargames take you though the basics of Dropfleet Commander with a few sample turns looking at movement, firing and some of the more technical aspects of battling on the tabletop.

We'll be diving into more detail as the weekend progresses but this gets everyone up to speed for their first game.

Hideous!?, Justin’s PHR are concerned about safety more than looking cool. When their ship eventually blow up, the debris field will be much easier to spot making it both easier to spot survivors and avoid flying through. Very PHR.

Great demo video. Love the mechanics of the game. It is unique from other space games I have played.

It really is awesome of the guys from Hawk to appear at a gig like this to help out. Probably really useful for them to see it in the wild too!

I can’t wait for the custom rules to come out of this weekend, and we get the banana hammock surprise attack maneuver.

This is cool, but I’m gonna watch this tomorrow morning over some coffee.

For someone who supposedly rolls badly most of the time, Dave sure had some nice rolls there … maybe the Banana Republic ships need special psychological warfare rules made up.

I’m loving the addition to ramming other ships. How likely is it that your ship will only be left with 1/2 hit points before the option becomes available?

Seems KILL-YYY ——— Good.
Seems It will be fun with lots of ships aside and with 4 -8 players

I’ve played two games now and overlooked active scanning, ground combat and scoring for ships in low orbit, so this video was great!

Great way to start learning the game. I learned the game more from watching the videos than reading the rules :-O

At least once you look at the rules, then you will already have a sense of their meaning. That’s helpful.

I like the idea of the minion banana space armada.

Great explanation from Dave. Nice to see him go thru rules without being asked questions in the middle and then going off topic. Thanks!

Nice summary. I would love to see proper “How to Play” video some day. Something similar to what Battlefront has on their Youtube page.

May someone could write me down the corrected version of the Leonidas-Data? πŸ˜‰
Is really the same size linked (left and right) instead of one side like the Theseus?
