Macrocosm are closing in towards the final week or so of their Balls! Kickstarter and we're seeing some interesting developments to the creatures themselves. See what you think of some of their 'evolutions' and mutations that have started to appear...

Colossal Ball

One of the first additions to the roster was the massive Colossal Ball. Obviously these are meant to represent the likes of big creatures within your army although I think this would actually be really good when incorporated into a terrain piece.

Maybe you could have this chained up, floating atop a ritual pit of some kind, worshipped by the Orcs within their homeland. Da Big Floatin' Squig!

Following on from that we have another type of Ball that is most certainly on fire.

Ball Of Fire

I would use this a a Wizards summoned ball of fire or indeed a familiar of some kind. It would put some additional character into the standard flaming ball that leaps around on the tabletop during Dungeons & Dragons sessions.

Horns, arms and more are also popping up for this campaign so you can start to personalise your balls. In this case I could see horns signifying more commanding and heroic balls.

Horns

...you can also check out how the arms look here with their weird suckers on the end of the fingers.

Arms

I still think my original idea to use these as Servo Squigs for the Orks of Warhammer 40,000 would be fantastic here. I love the idea of a Weirdboy  using his psychic power to keep his legless Squigs floating while the Mekboy fixes a bunch of metal onto them.

What do you think of these additions?
