Explore The Land Of Magic & Monsters In The Middara Kickstarter

Fans of dungeon crawler games and story campaigns have got to check out the new Kickstarter project from Succubus PublishingMiddara!

This is a choose-your-own style adventure miniatures board game, where you and up to 4 of your friends can explore an ultra-modern fantasy setting in a narrative manner. Do you remember the Choose Your Own Adventure books (now I'm dating myself)?

This game taps into that feel as players face moral dilemmas, battle lethal opponents, pursue personal goals, and make strategic and political decisions that can radically change the outcome of the game. Where this game really differs, is that the game doesn't just end and reset when things don't go well or as according to plan- the game continues and changes, taking a whole new direction.

Another really great aspect to Middara is in the character development. This game takes the basic practice of character creation and development and kicks it up hundreds of notches- where there are very few limits to how you character can change and be improved upon.

As your level increases within the game, characters earn a number of points, and how you choose to spend them for your character is entirely up to you. So you can add a bow or an axe to your character, as we have all come to expect in our prior dungeon crawl experiences, or you can take on the ability to alter time!

So aside from the wonderful customization, there is beautiful double-sided tiles and stunning miniatures to go along with the story! There's also several ways the game can be played, including campaign play and "crawler" mode, where you can hop right in and try to eradicate the enemy.

And though this is a cooperative style game, it does offer the ability to play solo, which can be great when your friends may not be available to get a game in.

How do you feel about choosing your own adventure in Middara?
