The models that you see here are stunningly painted and the landscape that the team put together to re-create this battle is genuinely epic. Like Battle Reports of old from the likes of White Dwarf, the magazine delves deep into the tactical thoughts from the combatants and more.

You can, once again, tell that the team behind this fanzine for the world of Middle-earth have so much passion for this project. They have worked with friends and companions from throughout the community to create something wonderful for this exceptionally welcoming tabletop game.

Tactica

As well as the battle report we have some tactical advice on leading armies, some amazing painting articles on Golden Demon level dioramas...

...and very in-depth looks at how to re-create the styles you've seen on show within the pages of the battle report. For example, here is a look at how Thorin came together.

I was drawn to some of the other pieces in the magazine, however, especially the article by Damian about the journey from those early days of the hobby through to where we are now, and how much tabletop gaming has influenced his life. I think it's a story that a lot of us would relate to, and while the gaming content is superb here, it's nice to look beyond that as well sometimes to explore just how much we owe to the wonderful communities we find ourselves in.

There's no doubt much more ahead for this team...and I can't wait to see where they go next!
