Build Ruined Stalingrad With New WW2 Micro Art Terrain
September 17, 2025 by brennon
Micro Art Studio has expanded their collection of pre-painted World War II terrain with another visit to Stalingrad and the ruined battleground that formed during the fighting on the Eastern Front. You can now get all manner of new 28mm scale kits for use in games like Bolt Action.

All of the terrain in this new collection has been designed to suit your 28mm wargaming, broken down into smaller sets as you'll see here. They are all pre-painted (UV-printed) over the top of HDF (high-density fiberboard) and it's both sturdy and incredibly detailed.
There are some great terrain pieces which have been designed to be played through, as well as looking good. That means those nice thick wall sections and lots of room inside the different terrain pieces, so you can move your infantry and in some cases, vehicles.

I like that even terrain sets like the Factory here are covered in lots of additional details. You have a mix of brick textures as well as design elements like posters and such, which give the terrain a lived-in feel.
One of my favourite pieces from the collection of ruined terrain is the absolutely amazing Univermag (available as a bundle and as separate pieces if you prefer).

This represents a ruined department store that would have once been bustling with people. Now, it plays host to skirmishes between soldiers from the Axis and the Allies across two floors. There are so many nooks and crannies within the terrain where your troops could take cover and avoid incoming fire.
Talking of levels, you can also get terrain kits like the Apartment here, where a sniper could clamber all the way up to the top floor and take some potshots at the enemy in the streets.

I also appreciate that Micro Art Studio has fully detailed the interiors of these buildings, with lots of work going into the interior wall designs and the floors. You've got the little piles of rubble, which could be added to with set-on pieces if you wanted to create a more dynamic environment.

All of the terrain from this pre-painted range can be assembled by just using PVA glue. They recommend doing a dry fit of the pieces from the different kits before you dive in with the glue but it should mean that your Stalingrad should come to life very quickly without much hassle whatsoever.
The Stalingrad range is available as individual kits or in smaller bundles representing a particular building but you can also go all-in and get yourself something like this...

This might be expensive but this would give you an absolutely epic set-up for your World War II wargames set in Stalingrad. As well as being good for World War II wargaming, there's no reason that this couldn't also be used to create a fun setup for Post-Apocalyptic wargames where you just need a ruined city to fight through. Could you be tempted by the pre-painted Ostfront Stalingrad terrain by Micro Art Studio?

I wouldn’t have thought of the post-apoc angle, but that actually sounds fun.
I have some of their Normandy stuff. Relatively easy to assemble and looks great.
That price is friggin bananas. No thanks.
I think the price point is on par the the 4ground stuff I’ve got . Would like to see the kit parts / sprues to see what you actually get in each building kit
That’s fabulous looking terrain for gaming with 👍
Far too pricey for burnt wood. Hard pass.
Eeeeek! Lovely but for that price I’d be looking to live in it.
Awesome designs, and a great set of ruined builds. Love that the colour printing is on both sides of walls for the buildings too, something missed by a lot of other coloured mdf kits.
However I’m in agreement with others, its far too pricey for a full table, which is what you would want for Stalingrad.
