Paul Hicks, the sculptor behind Empress Miniatures' absolutely stunning Arnhem Heroes range, previewed some of the new 28mm German miniatures that will be coming to crowdfunding soon. This is another great set of miniatures for World War II wargaming.

The range from Paul Hicks and Empress was pretty darn extensive and it seems like that's going to be the case again here with this Arnhem German range. A lot of the miniatures are based on photography from the time, authentically sculpted to match this particular conflict that took place during World War II.

The Officers above look fantastic. You've got some great, dour expressions on those leading the way against the Allies. They come packed up by some Riflemen, as you see below, in a variety of poses.

There are also some German soldiers with their submachine guns at the ready. When it came to the close-quarters fighting in Arnhem, it makes sense that there would be plenty of Germans armed to deal with the situation. Again, there are some neat poses here.

Last but not least, at least for this preview, there was also this machine gun team set up alongside another one lugging their gun through the streets.

This is just a taster of what's going to be available when Empress Miniatures bring the Germans to Kickstarter. If you've already got the British Airborne and their Polish allies, then these miniatures could be a perfect next project. Soon, you'll probably have everything for recreating Arnhem on the tabletop.

Could you be tempted by some more Paul Hicks sculpts for World War II?
