Khurasan Miniatures are heading to North Africa with some of their newest 15mm World War II releases. They are looking to build up their Afrika Korps / DAK range with a host of new miniatures allowing you to take the fighting to dusty dunes.

The focus is on bringing to life a German army that would work for the battles in North Africa around Tobruk and the like but could also work if you were looking to head North and join in with the Italian Campaign as well. A lot of the core elements have already been added to their webstore but there are a few heavier options on the way as well.

To that end, you've got the Command options (see above) as well as the German soldiers with MP40. Man, that was one hell of a gun! I always liked getting to use the MP40 in games like Medal Of Honor and Call Of Duty.

As well as some of the more specialist units, there are also options for your standard squad of Riflemen armed with the Kar98.

As you can see, the set is pretty robust and offers up a bunch of detailed soldiers with all of their kit. I think the posing is great on these and with a couple of these sets altogether, you'd have a very dynamic-looking force that was charging forward to take on the Allies.

It wouldn't be a German army without the addition of some machine guns. So, you're able to get your hands on two teams with the MG34 in hand.

You could either run this as two different teams or you could use it to show when the team is moving and when it has been set up. I like the second idea as it adds a level of narrative (albeit small) to your unfolding game as you go from turn to turn. It also means that your foe has a visual representation of when it might be good to scarper from cover!

As mentioned above, there are going to be some heftier elements of the DAK force introduced to this range in the near future before Khurasan turns their attention to the creation of the 8th Army which will be neat to see!

What do you make of these first German releases in 15mm?
