Watch Out For Medbury’s WWII Australian Infantry Coming Soon!

Medbury Miniatures and Adventure Miniatures are going to be collaborating on a new project that aims to bring 28mm World War II Australian infantry to the tabletop for the New Guinea Campaign that took place in 1942.
New Guinea Campaign - Australian Infantry // Medbury Miniatures
Victor Perry of Adventure Miniatures is an avid and passionate fan of World War II and especially Australia's contributions to the war effort during this period. With that in mind, Medbury are now working on sculpting and producing a new range of miniatures that suit the battles in the Pacific and New Guinea.
The figures have been researched based on contemporary images, with many of the miniatures being posed based directly on photographs of real soldiers. This will mean that you can create an accurate force that matches the 2nd AIF based on the year 1942.
The range will feature thirty-plus figures that you can use for platoon-sized wargames with your basic infantry through to spotters, mortar teams and more. You will have options for metal miniatures OR STL files, which you can use for home printing.
Medbury has also mentioned that future releases will cover the Japanese in New Guinea, plus the likes of Aussie Commandos, Militia troops and plenty of vehicles. Watch out for future previews of this range before it hits Kickstarter in August. We're big fans of the work by Medbury and can't wait to see how more of the troops look!

Oh look there is Bruce, Bruce and Bruce!
My grandfather was in one of the American battalions sent to New Guinea in 1942. His stories of the fighting there were particularly brutal. He did work with the Australians a lot securing communications. The miniatures look great!
They look terrific, and the New Guinea campaign is iconic in Australia, especially as it was the first time the Japanese were defeated.
Will certainly be getting these STL when they are available.
