Bring New Armoured Platoon Sets To Warlord’s Bolt Action
May 7, 2025 by brennon
Warlord Games are taking pre-orders for four newly added sets to their Bolt Action range. They all feature vehicles for the Allies, covering the British and the United States, offering you some ways to support your infantry in World War II wargames.
M3 Grant Armoured Platoon // Bolt Action
This set comes with three of the plastic M3 Grant Medium Tanks. The M3 was designed as an interim tank whilst the M4 Sherman was being developed and put into production. This set allows you to build the tank with the British-specification welded turret and in-game, the M3 is a Medium Tank with a 9+ damage value and a medium anti-tank gun mounted in the hull alongside a light anti-tank gun on the turret. It even comes with a medium machine gun!
As well as being useful in Bolt Action, this could also be dropped into Achtung Panzer! as Warlord recently added rules for it alongside the Iron Coffins supplement.
If you'd prefer to do a bit of recon then you can also get yourself a set of US Jeeps.
US Jeep Armoured Platoon // Bolt Action
These "go anywhere" vehicles were introduced into the mix in June 1940. Over half a million of these have been produced and could be armed with either the a .30cal or .50cal machine gun. This set gives you a set of three armed jeeps for the US, with two of them using the .30cal and the third using the .50cal. They form an Armoured Platoon of three lightweight fighting vehicles and provide you with some great anti-infantry options at a relatively low cost.
The kits are resin and metal, and you get the US Army crew to man these vehicles, both on the guns and as drivers.
A couple of additional sets are also available from the folks at Warlord Games for Bolt Action. You might want to do a bit of river crossing with the Ford GPA Amphibious Jeep.
Ford GPA Amphibious Jeep - US Crew // Bolt Action
This is a solid force for your American forces in Bolt Action who might be taking part in amphibious assaults in particular scenarios. It effectively takes the role of a US transport jeep in your games, but gets the bonus amphibious special rule. Send your men across the river and take control of objectives ahead of the enemy forces.
If you want to lay down a bit of additional firepower then you've also got the M15 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage.

This can be rolled into a US Armoured Platoon and bring to bear a bit of rapid-fire weaponry. This could do something awful to enemy infantry as well as soft-skin and even lightly-armoured vehicles. It is also armoured enough that it can withstand small arms fire, so it could well be a solid way of threatening objectives.
Are you going to be snapping up some of these miniatures for use in your games of Bolt Action?

A plastic Grant is good , as is the earlier released Lee . Downside IMO is longer M3 75mm barrel and the late counterweight gear for the 37mm turret . As well I see the roof hatch over the 75 loader is molded closed as are the side doors . Pity as removing the side doors to make a late version M3 is going to be a real bitch . Guess I’ll wait for Rubicon’s
