6mm Mech Warfare Coming Soon From Modiphius With Hardwar
February 21, 2025 by brennon
Modiphius has announced that they are going to be coming to Kickstarter with a new retail-friendly campaign that will aim to bring the 6mm scale mech warfare of Hardwar to the tabletop. Heavy armour, mechs and aircraft are going to be hitting the tabletop later in 2025.
Hardwar // Modiphius
Working with Strato Minis Studio which they acquired last year in June, they are looking to get the rules by Krzysztof Raczynski, Rafal Zerych and Robey Jenkins out to more folks. These folks have been revised and updated with a new edit and designed to be easy to use at the table. It will also feature the Extended Hardware and Ho Heroes content that was available in PDF form before this.
As well as a new rulebook, you'll also be able to dive into a full Starter Set that will feature crisp new miniatures true to the original sculpts. You'll get to choose from two of the seven factions for Hardwar initially with the Syndicate Taskforce and Consortium Security Squadron.

More miniatures will be coming in the future for the other factions in this universe. The game itself features straightforward rules which allow you to mix together different elements of armoured warfare including the aforementioned mechs alongside spacecraft, exotic experimental weapons and sentient combat swarms. This all sounds very snazzy indeed.

You'll be able to lead a private security company, command corporate forces, join a revolutionary rabble, or maybe take on the role of a marshal protecting farmsteads. The depth is already there thanks to the work Strato has done in the past so the folks at Modiphius have a good bedrock to build on.
Hardwar Battlefield // Modiphius
It would be worth going and checking out what's already available from Strato Minis Studio for Hardwar as we've looked at them in the past and they have some very funky mechs. There will be a first chance to check out more from GAMA Expo soon as well as a chance for you to play the game for yourself at AdeptiCon ahead of the Kickstarter in the Summer.
Are you intrigued by Hardwar's return to the tabletop via Modiphius?

I think this looks like Battletech…
But it also looks super duper wicked cool awesome. The BUILDINGS!!!
Hmmmmmmmm…… hmmm…. *looks at the just arrived parcel*
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…..
lies !
damned lies !
pics or it didn’t happen !
😛
I bet it will ship before my battletech 😉
not sure if they can arrive before Mantic’s epic …
hmm … is epic the new scale for SciFi this year ?
Hopefully a good replacement for Battletech.
The tanks are cool! And it looks like the red and black guys got an Urbie!
Not really hiding their inspiration are they? Same scale as Battletech and one of those mechs looks suspiciously like an urbanmech to me…
Still, look good and more options is always nice. I hope the sculpts are as good in-person ass they are in the photos though, I have gotten some pretty bad miscasts from them before with the Star Trek miniature range.
It’s kind of tricky to be original when you want a big stompy bipedal robot thing.
Chances of getting something that looks like an urbie are pretty good as well because that simply is a good basic shape.
Besides … it’s either Battletech or Gundams.
The only other shape I can think of would be the titan class walkers in 40k.
AT-ST
when a bunch of talking teddy bears can take out a walker with arrows and a bunch of logs it’s not an design one should copy 😉
Yub-yub! Eechi-wa-wa!
I grabbed four of the mechs and a crap load of weapon options from Strato a while back, and magnetized them so they’d be customizable. Really cool minis. Personally, I like these designs better than Battletech.
Got my eye on these, the minis previewed look superb, significantly better than those from Catalyst in detail and with less chunky look. Love that there’s very clearly “not” a urbie in the range!
looking superb!
I like the tank designs. They are better than the tanks from Dropzone and Battletech.
