X-Men Logan Poster and Plot Details Get Revealed

October 6, 2016 by dracs

Logan, the third installment in the stand-alone X-Men Wolverine movies and Hugh Jackman's last time as the character, has had its first poster revealed, along with some interesting plot details.

Logan is set in the year 2024, a world where mutant births have started to decline and the existing mutants are having a rough time of it. Wolverine is looking after Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart) whose powers have become unstable, while old age has meant that his own healing factor is finally failing, leading him to self-medicate with alcohol to deal with the pain.

As usual with the X-Men movies, there is a secret government plot going on. This time they are looking to turn young mutants into weapons, with the main villain being the evil (and ridiculously named) Mister Sinister.

The child in the poster has also been revealed as being a mutant who Logan will take care of. She has a similar power to his own, but with only two claws instead of three. Wait a minute...

The movie is set to be based on the Old Man Logan comics, a what-if story which places Wolverine in a post-apocalyptic America ruled by super-villains.

Old Man Logan

This comic is one I have really mixed feelings about. True, the setting is rather cool, but it comes across as unrelentingly mean-spirited towards a lot of the characters, and Mark Millar's obsession with ultra-violence can be a bit disturbing at times.

Still, if the movies can redeem Mark's Civil War series then there is hope for this yet.

Are you hopeful for this new movie?
