Games Workshop announced what's coming soon for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar, including a new location for your games of Spearhead and a bunch of updates for your games being played throughout 2025 and 2026.

Spearhead Sand & Bone Gaming Pack - Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

Spearhead: Sand & Bone Gaming Pack // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

The new Spearhead set, Sand & Bone, introduces you to the Realm of Death. You'll be able to battle through the sepulchral darkness of Dolorum or fight across the chilling deserts of Ossia. Inside, you'll find a host of new Twists, new Battle Tactics and new Objectives which are befitting for the Realm of Death.

The Spearhead boards have also been tweaked for Sand & Bone and the objectives moved around. This means that it provides a different tactical challenge to what you might find in Fire & Jade.

There will also be a twenty-four-page book of rules for using the Battlepack, plus new Spearhead armies. You will just need the Core Rules to play,y which can be downloaded for free from the Warhammer Community website.

New Spearheads

As well as the new Gaming Pack, there are also four new Spearheads coming out to support Sand & Bone.

Fusil-Platoon - Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

These new Spearheads don't replace existing ones and simply give you new ways to play Spearhead with what you have in your collection. You can also use these as good jumping-off points for bigger Warhammer Age Of Sigmar armies. This showcases how Games Workshop are blending Warhammer Underworlds and Warcry warbands into larger forces. If you were a cynic, you'd say they were just trying to work out what to shove together but I like that this gives more life to miniatures across games.

You could also rock the Sunblood Prowlers...

This set is led by the new Seraphon warband for Warhammer Underworlds alongside a bunch of fearsome Saurus Warriors, a Spawn Of Chotec and two units of the Hunters Of Huanchi plus those Terrawings. Lots of badass dinosaurs.

Get seriously elite with the Ossiarch Bonereapers as they are bringing the best of the best to Spearhead with the Mortisan Elite.

These are some of the best miniatures in the Ossiarch Bonereapers collection. You've got the deadly Immortis Guard and Morghast Archai, plus the Necropolis Stalkers using their hundreds of years of experience to slice and dice their opponents.

Last but not least, we have a Spearhead for Destruction and the Ogor Mawtribes.

Scrapglutt - Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

Scrapglutt // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

This set features the ace Mantrapper and his band of Gnoblars, as well as a rather wild and dangerous Gnoblar Scraplauncher. This really takes the Ogors in a different direction as opposed to their older Spearhead. Have no fear; you also get a bunch of Ironguts that can smash aside your opponents later in your Spearhead games.

Matched Play

Last but not least, we have an update to the Matched Play situation as we move deeper into 2025 and consider 2026. The year-long Matched Play rules will get updated with a new General's Handbook pack that will be coming toward the end of Spring as we move into Summer.

The Realm of Life plays host to battles beyond Spearhead with new Battleplans, new Warscroll cards, Manifestations and Spell Lores. The set also comes with six objective markers themed to the new battlefield so you can set up and start playing.

Battle Tactics will shift in style, so you'll have to start mastering a bunch of new options available to commanders and this will all come alongside the Scourge Of Ghyran narrative event which will introduce new Enhancements, Battle Formations and story that continue to tell the unfolding narrative of The Mortal Realms.

What do you make of the new updates for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar waiting in the wings?
