BelloLudi Big Battle Game 1660-1721

BelloLudi - Big Battle Game 1660-1721

As you'd have guessed from the title, this set of rules has been designed to replicate the battles from 1660 through to 1720 where blocks of pikes were slowly being phased out. You'll get to dive into battles fought by the likes of Marlborough, Turenne, William III, Charles XII and more. The focus shifts towards muskets and lines of guns where volley fire was the way to go if you wanted to bring anyone down. With this game, the focus is on those masses of troops, musket fire and looking to maintain the iron discipline of your troops on the battlefield.

As they have said...

"the aim is not to annihilate the enemy unit to the last man, but to inflict so much damage, indicated by chits, that morale is brought down and the unit will become shaken or will run away in panic and removed from the tabletop"

You'll be seeking to use a combination of movement, shooting, cavalry charges and well-positioned artillery in order to break the will of your enemies. It's all about the entire army working together as brigades come together to work as a whole army. With everything working in tandem, it should provide you with a surefire route to victory.
